That storm shirt is awful IMHO.
The World Cup logo is a little bland it doesn't really show who the host nations are or anything. I guess the tribal designs might be significant but to the uninitiated I couldn't tell you which was for what nation.

the link explains it, left to right - Aus, NZ, PNG

Cool...

Id rather the RLWC developed a more unique trophy, cups are done to death. The Proven-Summons Trophy on the other hand is iconic and unmistakable. (as is the soccer WC trophy)

I dont know enough WC history to suggest anything though.

As long as they don't make a shiny toilet seat like the A League. There's trying to be different and then there's that abomination.

The history of the rlwc trophy is remarkable. And it's a brilliant trophy.

The trophy is a ridiculously valuable antique with a hell of a story. One for Antiques Roadshow.... paraphrasing from various sources:

Commissioned by a Frenchman named Paul Barriere in 1954 at a cost of 8 million Francs, a man who dragged French rugby league from near-death by the Nazi-controlled Vichy government, and the man who dreamt up the idea of a ' rugby league World Cup' - the second oldest world cup competition. During the 1970 Cup the trophy was put on display in a pub in Bradford, from which it was promptly stolen. Disappeared. Then, 20 years later in 1990 it was found in a by a Bradford resident in ditch amongst a pile of rubbish!

It's an amazing story and anyone who takes a little time to read the history of this trophy surely wouldn't want it changed.

Does anyone know if all the teams are going to have those crappy nrl numbers next year?? Or a few going to keep the original ones.

The Rugby League World Cup trophy is my favourite trophy and I had goosebumps holding it at an event at The City of London Honourable Artillery Company grounds for the Capital Challenge 2013.

HITD you've completely got the wrong idea on this one.

Pretty good for a WIL jersey but is that a maroon collar and side panelling? Why not just keep the purple/pink going? No need for a third colour, let alone one that looks so shit along side the primary ones.

It would almost make a good Storm WIL jersey. Not sure about the new colour. Agreed that if they are going down that path they would be best removing the maroon entirely.
