I tend to go for the team that knocked my team out of the playoffs, somehow validates the loss for me.

So go Seahawks!

In saying that I would also like to see either the Cardinals, Patriots or a Manning led Broncos win the Superbowl.

Sunday match ups look like the better day.

It's always hard to tip against the home teams coming off the bye but there's been at least one away team get up in this round the last 10 years.

Seahawks most likely this year.

Most interesting for me will be what Manning shows up. I'll discount that last showing, coming in midway through a game is no way to judge a guy. If it's Peyton of the last 12 months then the Steelers are a decent chance, if it's somewhere near 2013 Peyton then they're the overwhelming favourites for the AFC.

Gut feeling says Steelers might start Landry Jones, and have Ben as backup for when he's needed

I'm too divided on these games to do a multi, but I'm going:

Pats 5 point handicap
Packers to win. Cards are my tip, but I can't say no to Packers at $3.40
Panthers 2.5 handicap

Will wait for injury updates, but I'll probably steer clear of Steelers/Broncos

Depends where you read. Pittsburgh post gazette says Brown will play, ESPN says he won't. Most places say Ben will play

Surely Brown won't be playing, he looked like one of those bobble heads on the dashboard after that hit.

The closer the game gets the less confident I feel about the Steelers causing an upset. Broncos should cruise through with the way the Steelers are banged up.

I think the Chiefs can upset the Patriots. The week off would have done the Patriots a world of good given their injuries, but after the way the Chiefs bounced back from a horrible start this season, I think they'll keep rolling.

Cardinals over Packers should be closer than last time I hope, but still the Cardinals should have too much firepower. Still not convinced the Packers are back, also possible another receiver sitting on the sidelines for the Packers won't help.

Seahawks over Panthers. Seahawks D getting back to full strength with players coming back, Lynch was close last week, should be back this week. Seahawks probably due for luck to run out though.

Broncos over Steelers. Steelers just got out of the equivalent of a car crash. Ben won't be at full strength, so shouldn't torch the Denver D like last time. It seems unlikely Brown will be there, despite the esteemed Dr Jones opinion on the subject. Manning owes the Broncos a good game, not throwing an int for the first time this season would be a start.

All comes down to how bens arm is. If he can't throw big it takes away his strength in games.

I would argue throwing big, while a strength of his, isn't his number one weapon. His best attribute is his mobility in the pocket and ability to extend plays, giving his receivers time to break free of coverage. As long as he can still do that then we'll be ok.

Agreed there, the long game isn't a necessity, it's a blow but not fatal, if he can get a couple deep ones off once the adrenaline is going then AB has the moves and Bryant the speed to get wide open even if his accuracy is a bit off.

In the last meeting I think his longest completion was the game winner to AB which was just outside the red zone. The problem now is if they go back to that short passing game Ben's velocity and accuracy might be off, couple that with AB being iffy and Denver playing man it might be a rough day as Bryant and Wheaton aren't the best separators. You can only get so far playing catch and drop with Miller 3 yards at a time. Could be a big day for Toussaint catching though. Denver also had both safeties out that last game and they'll be back this time I think.

Biggest hope for the Steelers is Manning proves to be the guy he was the first 10 weeks of the season and their defence implodes like the Bengals. They've already come out saying they're going to target Cody Wallace, and they've had discipline problems at times.
