We're playing a team with 5 players in this match, including their captain. For the sake of a meaningless game we're missing our captain for a more important club game. Screw this crap.
Cronulla might have reason to feel a trifle more aggrieved...For the sake of a meaningless game we're missing our captain for a more important club game. Screw this crap.
That's just his current placement in the squad - Daley's said he won't decide til closer to the game who plays there. Wouldn't surprise if Bird played in the five-eighth role with Maloney at half.Moylan in the halves, dear oh dear oh dear.
Usually I like to see Raiders players rewarded for their good form, but f**k it, we need them this week so I'm glad the NSW brains trust have overlooked the form centre of the competition and someone who actually plays in the halves week in week out for such a vital position.
Names someone who wont play then recalls a bloke who had been given the news of being dropped.
Laurie Daley ladies and gentlemen.
3rd game there is a difference, only for this one, you may not understand, series is over, you may not get it.Yeah, he's totally bamboozled Queensland to another series win.

was never a 'bombshell' or 'shock' was it? if anything, based on players selected, the only option is Moylan in the halves and JBird on the bench. otherwise, Moylan would very much be sitting on interchange for 75' of the game.
whether or not it's the right call to play Moylan in the halves ahead of all the other possible NSW halves can be answered tonight (Gallen and Farah influencing the play puts a question mark on taking much out of it).
Moylan has looked good in attack in his NRL career in a role as 2nd or 3rd receiver from the ruck. Both halves play as 1st receivers in the modern game and you'd expect him to get first use of the pill on the right side of the ruck on many occasions tonight. That is, unless Gallen gets in the way, and we must not forget Farah lumbering out of acting half diagonally to pinch some futile metres for his stats before offloading it.
The big ??? is how he handles defence. Will be the #3 defender on the right side of the NSW defence - inside Dugan and outside Jackson or Frizell (who is the right edge and middle forward for this game?). Getting thrown into this role in an Origin when most football in his professional career has been played as a fullback will be a massive test.
He has been playing a bit of first receiver for Penrith this year and has looked good but whether he can defend in the line at that level is the big question. I think he will be ok, its a different sort of defence required at FB where he doesn't have the upper body strength to make those ball and all one on one tackles that are required to stop a player already over the line. He has always been good at making one on one tackles in the field of play though.
