We need to do more than just win, we need to show we have something to offer in the finals.

Very good point.IMO,of all the sides in the comp we are the only side that has shown gradual and continued improvement since round 19.Round 21 V the Warriors was a loss, but a very creditable loss which was decided deep into extra time. And thank God we had a 9 day turnaround after that game.

So the only mindset our players have to be in is to keep doing what they are already doing.Ignore the TV football shows, newspapers and online chatrooms, and they should make a good fist of this comp.

Hate to talk about my team blah blah but how haven't we shown improvement since then aswell? Beat your mob quite convincingly then lost to the Dogs which we very well could have won then were 10 seconds and 1 point away from 4 straight wins against quality opponents

Riff fans are starting to become more one eyed then I thought

We have all kinds of supporters at the Panthers. From the unbridled optimism of Gong to the utter pessimism of MX, a bloke who even tips us to lose playing the Knights. It does vary greatly depending on whether we won our last game. Most of us go the optimism route when we've won 4 out of the last 5, even though most of them were against also-rans and the other against a Broncos side who only thought they had to turn up. And yes, all of us are one eyed.

I don't think anyone expects this to be an easy win. Not after your lot sliced us and diced us not so long ago. I'm not utterly convinced that the holes on the edges found by Tedesco could not have been found by someone else, like a Naiqama or a Simona. What I'm hoping is that the holes have been plugged but this game is a test for sure. At home, in front of a packed Penrith Park, we expect to go OK.

As I said earlier, the Under 20 minor premiership has now been decided in our favour, unless the Roosters can overcome a for and against deficit of 367.

If you were Penrith you'd be directing traffic to Rankin all night long with bombs.

For us to have a chance Broses need to play out of their skins

Yep, 100% - I just copied and pasted from the Panthers website for that one - Cheers @TheFrog

I corrected the Panthers.com tweet hours ago in regards to that oversight.
Gongs blind optimism shouldn't be applied to all Panthers fans as @TheFrog said - I'd love to be as optimistic as you @GongPanther I just can't sorry mate ;) This'll be a tough match, Tigers will be hard to stop.

Of course I see this Panthers match as a good challenge. But I shouldn't be compelled to shy away from how I feel about my sides chances, however amplified.I'm expressing my freedom of speech in how I feel about my football side, and it's non of you,or anyone's business in how I express myself,as much as it is not my business to berate you for how much or less you do for your side.

I mean FFS,this is only a football forum, and the way ppl try to hammer down others just because it doesn't conform to their perceived ideologies,is just plain absurd.

So if you want to go the safe route by not taking a chance of showing yourself up if your team loses, well, that your prerogative.

But with me,my passion as been with this club for 48 years. And I'll always continue to show it accordingly.

Your retort is indicative of your I.Q.which would make a flea in comparison,a Rhodes Scholar, and of your overall social skills would be on par to Ape in a cage throwing fecal matter.

You are nothing but a filthy peasant who gets his/her cheap thrills in trying to logically out do other heavyweights on this site.

Consider yourself well and truly owned.

I think panthers fans should be confident, but I'll be pretty surprised if it's a big win for them. Tedesco is a massive blow but otherwise we have 15 of our best 17 (well what Taylor considers our best 17) fit. In the past 4 weeks we've conceded an average of 13.5 points against which is pretty much unheard of for the Tigers.

It was only what 6 weeks ago that the Tigers took care of the Panthers fairly easily. Now I realise the main reason behind that was Tedesco exploiting Cartwright and Blake, the chance of Rankin having the same effect is pretty much zero so we'll have to find another way.

Our main chance of a win is if Penrith take us a bit lightly. Whilst they've played well their last 2 games were barely above a training run with what the opposition threw up. Plus I think the panthers are close to home as far as a finals spot goes whereas the Tigers will be treating this as a do or die game.

Still thinking panthers win but I'll be surprised if it doesn't go down to the wire.

It wasn't just him, all the Tiges outside backs and especially the left side had a party in the second quarter of the match, which is when all the damage was done.
