Jamie Lyon
Jarryd Hayne
Eric Grothe Jr
Andrew Ryan
PJ Marsh
Willie Tonga
Feleti Mateo
Kris Inu
Tim Mannah
Junior Paulo
Semi Radradra

All players who came though Parra's Junior systems since Hindy who ended up being pretty damn good players.

That's not even including blokes like Pat Richards and Joel Reddy who were good but not great.

This is a list of players who have come through the Roosters Junior system, who are playing for the Roosters this week.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
Shaun Kenny-Dowall
Mitchell Pearce
Jake Friend
Dylan Napa
Mitchell Aubusson
Aidan Guerra
Boyd Cordner
Jackson Hastings (in fairness was bought from another Under 20's team, but still played Under 20's for Roosters)
Kane Evans

All of these players are current players. Some of your players pre-date the NYC competition!

Who do you think has done a better job at recruiting and developing the right juniors???

The Roosters have massive advantages in recruitment and retention though.

I think in today's environment, not having a large 'junior base' can be an advantage for smart clubs. You get to carefully evaluate players, with no emotional / 'he's my mates nephew' type ties, and go hard for the ones you think have a shot. Further, you don't have to spend time putting out fires caused by clashing egos among the well-meaning volunteers who make running the juniors possible.

If I recall correctly, the Roosters tapped into the Central Coast junior base. They have some arrangement that allows them to poach the juniors without running the scene. So best of both worlds really...

Players who came through our junior system and played for us in Round 26:
Radradra (brought into under 20's from Fiji)
Morgan
Paulo
Mannah
Moeroa
Pauli
Alvaro
Terepo

Not necessarily the same quality as the Roosters you named but still nearly half the squad.

Half the squad? 4 of that list would make our 2015 Top 17 contracted players at best...

If you look at my post again, you'll see that I never said anything about other club's ability to recruit and developing juniors.
I never even said that we were the best at it. We obviously aren't.
My post was in response to hindy111, pointing out that we have in fact developed quite a few juniors since Nathan Himdmarsh.

I don't know why you had to bring the Roosters into it.

Who cares...Its how you go during the year. Id rather win a comp and buy guys then produce stacks of juniors and finish out of the finals every year. Now she me a premiership.Sewards said 2 in 5 yrs. I will settle for one.

And I said they aren't the same quality as the Rooters you named so I don't get your point.
The discussion was around juniors who have come through since Hindmarsh, you decided to throw out a list of Roosters juniors playing this weekend so I simply listed the ones we used in Round 26.

Besides, give Junior, Tepai, Alvaro and Pauli as many games experience as Aubusson, Guerra and Cordner and then tell me they wont be as good. Between them the 4 Parra players have 110 games experience. Aubusson alone has 189 and Guerra 106.

You are not comparing apples with apples buddy.

Agree Since hindy our jnr development has been terrible. And of that list only Tepai and Jnr looks a certain 200+ NRL quality player.
Pauli i rate high but i still wouldn't be suprised if he ends up in the ESL after his 2yr contract finishes.

Even Hayne was almost 10 years ago. A good back prior was Jamie Lyon. Would love to find a Morris or Jennings or hodges come thru our ranks. It wont happen if we keep getting islanders like Lavaka-Toutai-Loko-Goodal-Falou . I mean seriously Gould went on and on how penrith would do this and that its silly to build a good under 20s side this way with brut power as they just run over the top of everyone so they focussed on finding guys who had skill rather then just brut power.
I would like too think we have learnt that most these guys go backwards once they play against men. Of course a kid who has more muscle and 10 kgs heavier will run over the top of another 17yld who has yet developed.

That's fine, but then add

Daniel Tupou
Isaac Liu
Sio Siua Taukeiaho

to the Roosters list.

SST is from the Warriors, I am not up with all the Rooosters, but you might be overplaying their junior development?

They certainly recruit well
