He probably wouldn't catch him, but it is very possible that Barba causes the player to put the ball down is a worse position thus making the kick harder. Two points can and does decide games.

In all seriousness though, who's comparing Paulo to Fifita? Fifita would be on massive money, is the Sharks front row leader (especially without Gallen hogging the hitups) and an established rep prop. Paulo is on half his money and never played rep footy....
