If this is the sort of product the NRL want on display on the biggest stage, this comp truly is f**ked.

At least 99% of the fans will have one team to cheer for next week. Imagine if it were a Storm/Broncos GF - Antiques Roadshow or whatever else if shown in that time slot would have higher ratings.

Don't bullshit, you'd have to be disappointed, you's could have easily won it this year but blew two games you's should have won, the Sharks game you's should have won easily.

Of course im disappointed mate. We could have beat both the sharks or the storm but made silly plays and just lacked i guess that finals experience

But those sharks and storm players have earned all that finals experience by being good. Hopefully we build on this for next year

We only had 16 games between all our players before this game and it showed. But we've got some dumbos led by Simple Jack.

I reckon you's blew a premiership, you's come into the finals on the back of 10 straight wins against a depleted Sharks team at home 12-0 up and we seen last night Cowboys were like busted ass so they beat the Sharks there in the GF.

So the 2 games we played against the Raiders they played their best game and the worst one.

Unlucky they weren't the other way around though.

Mate, one of the bombed tries was just ugh. Backline move wighton draws the over lap passes the ball right onto lees chest and all he had to do was walk over lol and he spilt it cold

The Sharks one to put Raiders 18-0 up was just as simple.

That's right. This year was never supposed to be "the year" and I would have been happy just getting to the finals. Finishing 2nd and making our first Prelim since 1995 is a massive achievement for us and the boys gained some invaluable experience.

Correct. A lot of people in here turning a blind eye to the amount of wrestle Canberra now have in their game. They were the dominant team in the wrestle tonight. Some of their forwards have perfected the art of the strangle hold and the ability to prevent the ball carrier getting a chance to play the ball quickly.
Which is why Melbourne were making metres at will through the middle, landing front first with quick play the balls (hesitant defensive line also contributed). We don't wrestle well and are very obvious when we do. The Panthers outwrestled us last week ffs.

The raiders dont use their forwards in the traditional sense. They very rarely go 100m. The donkey work is done by the backline which allows the larger forwards to target smaller players

Papalii is always great for the record
I don't disagree with you, but what also concerned me/concerns me about the Raiders pack up against finals teams is that the really good teams will find a way to tire them relatively quickly and start rolling through them. They looked to be under pressure at about the 35th minute - halftime couldn't come quick enough - and then Melbourne started making 50-60 metres a set from about the 55th minute. You can't keep letting a team like that do that to you and it really showed when one their biggest metre eaters in Leilua went down.

From a neutral supporter's perspective, I think they would do well to sign a forward who is a bit more mobile, regularly cracks the 100 metre mark, and ideally someone who has a different body shape to the rest of the pack. To me they all look to be quite similar in size and shape. Paul Green said not long ago one of the biggest benefits of his pack is that it makes teams think a lot more about how to defend against their side, whether that be taking down a tall timber like Tamou to knocking Taumalolo on his arse. Even looking at recent grand final winners they've all had packs that are of varying shapes and sizes - Melbourne included.

The experience is invaluable. Croker was the only player around when we last played a week 2 final without getting blown off the park
