Chances are they were. With five of eight games played in Sydney, the weather was quite obviously not conducive to attendance.

Oh and 200k happened once, in 2011.

Weather was terribly bad the whole week leading up to round 1 and only saw sun really for the first time yesterday. I can understand it would've turned a lot away

Do you accept that the weather played a huge roll in attendance being down?

Cos it sounds like you don't believe it even rained.. your an idiot cos with good weather the 5 Sydney games would much more decent sized crowds..

Where do you live Dave? Cos you don't believe it rained in Sydney

Looking at the games next week besides Thursday all games should get great crowds. QLD derby, Sunday arvo at Campbelltown between two young teams, Raiders v Sharks now is a grudge match, Warriors draw good against the Storm and lets be honest Knights will get a good turnout regardless and we saw it last year.

THE WEATHER HAS TO BE GOOD THOUGH!!!.

True that but I think also they'll look at last rounds performance and go into this game with plenty of confidence.

Even though its a 3pm timeslot, I wouldn't be surprised if they hit the 20,000 mark.

Will be interesting to see. Their member numbers have remained steady but their A-League counterparts the Jets have had a bit of a drop-off in crowds this season from what I've seen (from an already low base).

Wouldn't be surprised if the Knights' average drops this year if results don't improve slightly.

Probably due to the amount of management's time lost enabling Raiders home prelims to be played in ACT from 2017 rather than focusing on the big picture.

Newest rivalry in the NRL.

Already 15k tickets sold for the Canberra Raiders vs Cronulla Sharks match.

VIKING CLAP!!

its you're an idiot ... you idiot LOL
& of course it rained
& of course it had some affect on the crowds

but even taking this into account the crowds were abysmal
I don't think fine weather would have improved them that much , There were far too many round 1 games in Sydney & at shitty little venues too
