30 thousand tix already sold for parra game.

40000 would be a good crowd. Parra are attractive to watch with a tough time of it last season and the cowboys have a underdog tag that makes for a compelling clash. Sydney footy fans should turn out for such a final with good weather predicted. Hope the fans do! Il be at a local Lower Hunter footy grandfinal day in Newcastle with 10000 expected to attend.

in 2017 ... no , 2010 , 12 , 16 it did
also multiple times in the decade before

hmmmmm
what was it you were saying dummy ?

Spending all that money(twice as much) in the football dept and you got dis!!! Twenty first Century now .
Value for money dipstick?
From 2000 to 2017 including this year.
Your home averages in an all seater stadium had:-
One year 2017 when it averaged 14,097: good work
One year 2003 it averaged 13,398
The remaining 16 years the highest average was less than 12,500(12,404 down to 9575 in 2001).
Before spending time bagging another club's crowds ,I'd humbly suggest you check your own backyard.

This post was on r/nrl and I had to shareit because it's beautifully written on the subject of crowds:

"Make the tickets cheap. Kids under 16 get in free. Something to draw the next generation in. Let people lie, whatever. At least they are there. f**k it make one game in the opening round a gold coin donation entry for a charity. Kids wearing team jersey get in free? Tons of ideas.

Bring the game back to the suburban grounds more often. The Tigers playing at Leichhardt is f**kin unreal. The walk up Mary St with 1,000s of other merkins. Old blokes selling sausages on every corner. The short walk to the Grove after to smash beers. It's an experience as soon as you get near the ground. Or you can ride a train to ANZ from f**kin Lidcombe and walk around a giant open area with practically no one in sight until you get to your gate and sit with an entire bay to yourself. I've taken multiple overseas visitors to both grounds. Most of them request to leave ANZ around halftime. The it's a TV product argument is bullshit. There is no atmosphere, the stadium is tainted. No one likes going. The Tigers still sellout Leichhardt when they are bottom of the ladder because it's a fun f**king day. Make the stadium fun or send it back to the ovals.

Some ideas to make ANZ a better place. 1. Setup games and little clinics for the kids at day games. Passing through a hole, kicking a ball around, mini field goal setup. Give out a little prize of team merch for kids who do exceptionally well.

  1. Better food. Footy food is abysmal. Younger crowds prefer quality instead of rat coffins and soggy chips. Supplement this with food trucks outside the stadium.

  2. More club interaction. Set up meet and greet booth with a marquee player before the game. Sign a ball get a photo etc.

  3. Increase the spectacle of it all. Have people come out with tshirt cannons at half time, get cheerleaders that do something other than spirit fingers, use the big screen at halftime for dumb fun shit like kiss cam. Home team scores first any kid wearing that jersey gets a free candy bar. Home team does a random member giveaway that's announced at the half.

  4. Have something to do after the game. There is nothing open after the game if it's at night. Just a crowded train and a boring ride back to the city.
The general marketing is horrible too. Currently you only hear about NRL as scandal. The media is toxic and I go out of my way to avoid most NRL news. Write into player agreements that they must do X amount of charity/community work. If they already do, let us hear about it. Hodko going to the dying girls formal? f**king awesome. Let's hear more about them giving back to the community.

I'd like to see the basic membership as something than buying basically GA home tickets in advance. Have member/family days at the leagues club to increase member interaction and participation to inspire loyalty.

Let some of the more boisterous personalities out at the press conference. I don't think there are too many but players starting rivalries and doing some very light shit talking gets people wound up. People love confidence and conflict.

of course it is dummy
finishing 2nd in the H&A & one Edrick Lee Fumble from ensuring you guys were still premiershipless last year : )
on top of that
nearly 20,000 members as a result this year & 14,500 average attendances ( beating the premiers easily in both counts )
a strong marketing arm introducing the viking clap etc that is the talk of the town
on top of unshakeable financial stability through core diverse business interests & heaps of sources of income that don't rely on the football dept to deliver results
thats smart

its the whole picture for the Raiders
a forward progressive club that has a bright secure future

now
the Perth Sharks
has a nice ring to it eh dummy : )

Ticket for ANZ this week start from $20 for members ($25 non members). Families from $50. Cheaper than AFL. NRL will draw more than AFL this week.

if we get 45k and 40k= 85k

We may just do that.. Gee v Syd might get 60k and gws might get 20k

Would be unlike NRL to disappoint us tho

So no answer to the ordinary averages over 18 years ,in an all seater stadium, spending a fortune .Onew year LOL let's see the next 10,before you blow your lollies.
The Viking clap is the greatest thing since sliced bread. It'll fuel motor vehicles in the future.

"Unshakable" financial stability. You never heard of the GFC LOL in 2008.

Rural teams need big cities chump.Adelaide is closer. They need the clap.

Less change/tampering with playing outfits would also help for potential fans to work out which side is playing. Recognition is a big factor in gaining and maintaining new fans. The damage of constant changes in a teams appearance is underestimated. Short term gain amounts to long-term pain for the game.

Stallion, are these the NHRL GFs at No1?

Yes. The LHRL got the ground by default. They were originally after Harker oval (west newcastle's home ground but west wouldn't let them use the ground as they plan to use Harker for training prior to the District grandfinal being played at the Stadium the Saturday after this weekend ) So the LHRL asked the No1 sportsground curator for its use and he said its available. My mate curates the ground and I was privy to the actual phone call. Their is a big chance LHRL gf will outdraw the District gf being played on the following Saturday. Its good these games are on a Saturday however the fact that No1 is right in the city makes it far more appealing for casual fans. Its basically a 'plastic' experience of the stadium verse a 'cultural' experience at No1.
