The very valid reasons are there to capitalise on. 'Running away' doesn't do the code any favours. I would have attended England v Kangaroos in Sydney. And I'm sure if the marketing people did genuine research and tapped into the very real however dormant interest in rugby league internationally a correct choice of hosting England in Sydney would have happened.

didn't you say you reap what you sow ?

well
Sydneys RL fans have done just that : )

Rugby league development people are at fault. I see your logic is to punish and see the game decline. I prefer reclaim and improve. The leave and dwindle approach doesnt sit well with me. But at least you are consistent in your poor regard for rugby league and the way its headed.

for the first time in about 5 years
a 7pm kick off for a game that will finish before 9pm in the middle of school holidays

is not a problem.
so stop making it out it is.....

Tha AFL are happily continuing with family friendly timing for their major games and the code is more prevalent and little kids are more aware of it than decades gone by. Wonder why? You underestimate the intitial experiences of young children to a game/sport . I know my first experience was watching a grandfinal at 3pm. I liked the jumper of one of the teams playing and became a lifelong fan. In fact trialled at the club when I was a young footballer.

Maybe have anther chp at it mte.

Thanks again. Eyesight issues! Lol. And I'm no troll just seeing things as they truelly are. I actually refer to AFL as a 'training run' . Something I think is not highlighted by fans of our game enough. If people knew that the origins of Aust rules lie in Victorian cricketers wanting to play a game to keep fit over the winter months then that would spark up informative conversation when comparing codes . But this reality is not well known. Im pretty sure the AFL people pushing the myth of 'toughness' dont want this fact to be known at large?!

Let me tell you another thing the NRL does better than the AFL....

The Grand Final.

All the supporters of the competing teams have a chance to get tickets and see their team. Other die hard fans that just want to go to the Grand Final have a chance.

Unless you are a GOLD member of Richmond or Adelaide football club you have NO chance of getting a ticket to the AFL grand final. The AFL give the tickets to corporates,

The NRL entertainment is always better, it's played at night, better spectacle. The NRL always gets better acts. The AFL gets lame shit year after year. The NRL gets higher tv ratings because it's at night and better spectacle.

The NRL looks after the people for the Grand Final. The AFL looks after their pockets.

I'm not one of the AFL haters on here and I don't give a shit about the constant which game is better faggotry dialogue that goes on here because I go to both Grand Finals every year and I can tell you that the NRL do the Grand Final so much better and the contest itself is usually better,,, Something the AFL could learn from the NRL.

Both codes can learn from each other to try and improve shortcomings.
Actually, this year there are around 10k corporate tickets. MCC members get almost 25k regardless of which team they support, and AFL members 20k but most will be competing club supporters. There will be around 70k competing club supporters at the game. But yes, AFL is way too corporate.
Anyway, some other things the NRL does better
NRL footy show has always been 100 times better
GF entertainment always better (although this year the AFL has the Killers and I have never heard of any of the NRL performaers). NExt week will be my first NRL GF and I can't wait.
Match coverage, player interviews, etc. AFL players are boring too much media training never say anything. NRL players are open, honest and entertaining. I loved seeing the Cowboys having a XXXX after the game. I know it is only mid strength, but most AFL players would not have a single beer the whole season let along GF week. They are robots.

I was captain of the Booval Swifts U13 Bs

Roosters presidents cup squad. Great experience. Hardest training ive ever done. Was a player of the year in a Newcastle district club and was invited to trial for the Roosters. Met Artie Beetson and others and cherish the whole thing.Just missed out but grateful for knowing whats involved and how hard it is. Fyi.

I once scored 4 tries in a local senior C grade game. I learned the values of drinking and training once a week with ballwork 30 mins before kick off.

28k is appaling for a prelim in Sydney on a Saturday night I'm sorry despite the opposition.

My mate who went there said there was a definite 50/50 split meaning half Roosters the rest Cowboys/neutrals cheering on the cowboys. They have no support despite being successful for 5+ years

If it was any of Tigers, Bulldogs, Saints or Eels vs Cowboys they would've easily sold out last night.
