I always like the colour and yellow trim on the below jersey. Something like the below, without the dark blue T design thing on the bottom front. Just plain blue, yellow trim.

The colour just says "GOLD COAST' to me. I like when you watch a Titans game, the sun is blazing, the grass is green and everything just seems bright. The light blue in the jersey below just goes with it. The name sucks but not much we can do about that now.

Excuse the dodgy use of an online template but I think I would keep the Gold Coast jersey simple if I designed it. The colours represent the sand, surf, sky, so I would like to see horizontal lines with blocks of colour. Something along these lines

I'm guessing you picked that blue cause of the limitations of the kit builder but it looks like a rough combination between the NSW and Parra home jerseys.

Needs more gold and if the navy is to stay, it needs to be used better on the jersey (help the gold contrast better with the light blue).

And I get the logic of trying to appeal to kids with a jersey but I reckon having a big cartoon logo on the front would be turn a large number of adults off of wearing one.

Yeah I have no skills in graphic design so found an online template that roughly allowed me to demonstrate what I meant with their colour choices.

I more mean from a general design perspective, I would use the two tones of blue and the yellow as blocks of colour. The template wouldn't allow it but essentially I would like a jersey that referenced this: light blue sky, strip of yellow sand, dark blue ocean

I absolutely agree with the need for branding that is expressly local (that dave Taylor jumper without the uterus would have been pretty good), but the jersey means shitall if the logo is still so utterly devoid of meaning...

The shitty Americanized logo is pretty standard with new teams, but, like GAZF said, the others have at least minor connections (Cowboys - Rural QLDs, Raiders - the outsider raiding Sydney, Knights/Steelers - steel city/working class job, Broncos - animals have enough character to be good while being a blank slate, etc).

All logos are hugely rhetorical, but they all need to start from something distinctly local. The Titans are they only club that fail this miserably. The name obviously cannot change, but the reference to Ares god of War should just f*ck right off. Clubs change their logos all the time, so an update wont be a problem like a namechange would

The great thing about the name TITANS is that it is so vague it could apply to just about anything; Battleships, mythical sea creatures, greek gods of the ocean, a f*cking whale. All it needs is some central reference that says "we represent the Gold Coast"...

Do battleships scream Gold Coast? How about just replacing the swords with tridents?

What was the go with the jerseys in the Souths and Canberra game last night?

Both sides in green was confusing.

Usually when they play each other one side has to change strips

It didn't really help that the ref was wearing yellow either. Would have made it easier if they were in the red kit

Canberra's away uniform is dark so I guess there would have been just as much of a clash. Souths have had 3 or more black jerseys and a white nines jersey this year but don't have a regular home/away one that isn't predominantly green.

I actually didn't feel it was an issue. Referee perhaps could've been in red but otherwise they didn't really clash.

Why have the dogs gone back to their old number front?
Likely to do with the fact they wore their heritage jersey which uses black numbers. They'll be back on the NRL font with the normal jersey next week.

Interesting to note that of the 12 teams who've played so far, only 3 have worn an away/alternate jersey, all others have been in their main strip. After the clusterf**k of the last few weeks, that's a pleasant surprise.

That should finish at 10 out of 16 in home strips, the outliers being - Bulldogs/Storm heritage, Tigers/Manly/Cowboys/Broncos away.

Nice to see IMO

Yeah, they're both green, but I wouldn't say they clash. Canberras light green with white vs Souths dark green with red and black isnt hard to tell apart

The Tigers have black NRL numbers....

More likely is they didn't want to make a new batch of heritage jerseys with the NRL numbers for the rare times they wear it.
