What a crock of sh*t. If a company wants to send more money on sponsoring other clubs, why should the original club become unhappy about it? What's next, NRL clubs get upset when a sponsor also advertises on the side of a bus or on TV?

There doesn't seem to be any unhappy parties here.....

THE Cronulla Sharks have ended months of off-season uncertainty by signing a multi-million dollar major sponsor just 48 hours before launching their premiership defence.

Opal Solar will be plastered across the front of the black, white and blue jersey when they run out for the season-launch clash with the Brisbane Broncos on Thursday night at Shark Park.

The delay in finding a sponsor had cost the club tens of thousands of dollar in pre-season merchandise sales while fans wait to purchase the official 50-year jersey with the naming rights sponsor.

“We’ve been in the market to find the right partner, not just any partner,” said CEO Lyall Gorman.

“Opal Solar have got a great brand around environmental responsibility which aligns with a lot of the principals our club has in regards to community involvement.

“They’ve recognised we’re the premiers and a brand on the rise. It’s a strong statement in our brand and reinforces where this club is heading.”

Opal Solar is already involved in the NRL as a sponsor on the back of the Canterbury Bulldogs jersey.

Bulldogs CEO Raelene Castle says there is not a problem with the double up.

“We are pleased for both parties,” Castle said, “Opal see out their contract and stay on our jersey for 2017. They were looking for a bigger opportunity which wasn’t available with us.

Gorman too sees no drama with the same sponsor at two clubs.

“The fact they are also involved with the Bulldogs just shows their passion and love for the game,” he said, “We’re delighted to have such a great company on board.

“A couple of years ago we made a commitment about changing where our club was heading. We’ve shown on and off the field a continual rise in delivery. The corporates have confidence in us.”

The deal is believed to be worth around the $1 million-a-season mark, one of the most lucrative in the game. It couldn’t arrive at a better time for the Sharks, who despite winning the premiership, reported a $600,000 loss on heir 2016 campaign.

“No one gets any satisfaction out of not having a naming rights sponsor on their jersey so this is a boost for players, members, fans and everyone associated with the club.”

No Box.
No weird colours.
Looks good.

The 50 year logo is too small.

Crikey, I'm going to have leave Cronulla on my wish list for at least another 3 years . . . anything anti-coal has my full support

well with the season about to kick off in less than 2 days, I thought I might look at each teams jerseys and give my opinion on which team I think is showing off in style and looking terribly awful. For this I'm only rating home, away and alternate jersey as I can't be bother rating the others.

Broncos

Home: Really like the look of this as its a flashback of the broncos back in 2000 and I feel its a great modern look for them even though everyone would prefer the ones they wore for the world club challenge including me but I think that this one is a lot better than the previous year they had come with.

What would I change: probably add an extra 1 or 2 white stripes on top but apart from that its spot on

Away: I like it simple but effective and not crazy. Way better than the previous ones which were pure vomit.

What would I change: Nothing looks great

Raiders

Home: Absolutely love this the colours, style and placement it screams green machine and having the return of solid green socks which makes the whole even better but the only fault they've done is put the stupid blue panel which doesn't even go with the shorts and with blue numbers it seem to have too much blue for me.

What would I change: Take out the blue panels and its perfect
Rate:9.5/10

Away: This is without a doubt the worst jersey this season it just looks so off to me. I see it more of it as training shirt than a jersey. What are Canberra thinking?! now I know that GAZF's jersey is gonna be played in 2 games this season but that jersey is perfect and yet they decide to put this atrocity over his. Come on.

What would I change: Take out this jersey and replace it with GAZF's jersey

Home:
I like it its traditional so you can't complain

What would I change: Id lower the kia sponsor a bit down so the v can be complete
Rate:8/10

Away: pretty much the same with the home can't complain.

What would I change: same again Id lower the kia sponsor a bit down so the v can be complete
Rate:8/10

Alternate: Can't say I'm a fan with these but I get its more for marketing and I think they sell well.

What would I change: I'd get rid of it as an alternate but put it as the next nines jersey I think it would look great there.

I don't mind this look but I guess now its most iconic look since they won their premiership with it. Another thing sharks always find sponsors that look really good on their jerseys

What would I change: I'd get rid of the black panels as I think its too busy
Rate:7.5/10

Away: I loved this a bit old school works well. Got nothing bad to say.

What would I change: No need

Home: absolutely love this it looked great on the field. Traditional and elegant even though everyone hates manly you cant hate the designs they got this season. There almost perfect.

What would I change: Probably put white collars instead but not a big fuss
Rate:9.8/10

Away: same goes for the this one. Almost perfect.

What would I change: Probably put maroon collars instead but not a big fuss

Home: Loving the jersey simple modern look with a good blend with the colours and tone.

What would I change: I would like to see bring back the yellow just like they did with their nines by putting yellow on the collar and sleeve then this jersey would be perfect.
Rate:9.8/10

Away: I like it although something about the v to me doesn't really suit it and seem a bit busy.

What would I change: I would like to see what it would look like without the v and leave the rest.

Home: I like it. Modern and safe with some tribal going around the sides which is a nice kiwi touch.

What would I change: I would change the grey lines to red as I think doesn't show contrast and will be seen as a place plane shirt from a distance.
Rate:9/10

Away: Same goes for this one as well but I like this one better as it looks more effective.

What would I change: No need

Love it traditional and looks great if only they can play better cause they're putting that jersey to shame.

I like it. Simple modern look and effective with its colours.

What would I change: I would continue those thick white lines around the chest all the way through as I dont really like how it stops and goes thin halfway

I like it traditional and looks great. Although I prefer when gold or yellow were their main colour but that's a different discussion for another time.

What would I change: No need
Rate: 9.5/10

Away: I find this jersey very confusing even though they wear yellow shorts and socks I still feel the blue is more dominate on this jersey which more like a home jersey than a away.

What would I change: Get rid of it or make it as a home jersey and bring back the design from 2015

I might sound biased here but I love this jersey the best. A modern look of the licorice allsorts and it screams PENRITH!!! If we win the premiership this season, we are gonna look good holding that trophy ;)

What would I change: Probably change the side panels to the same tone as the front and back
Rate: 9.9/10

Away: I was surprised that they did something a little bit more different with this one compared to the traditional one but with saying that loving the white shorts and socks.

What would I change: Probably change the back of the jersey to white instead of black and have black numbers as I think it would look much more clean with the rest

Home:
like the traditional look but hate those stupid panels on the shoulders and sides it ruins on what could be a perfect jersey.

What would I change: Get rid of the stupid panels on the shoulders and sides then its perfect
Rate: 9/10

Away: One thing I hate about the Rabbitohs their idiotic away jersey by just taking the home jersey and replacing the black with white. Its stupid and unfair when they play the raiders in canberra.

What would I change: Get rid of the jersey and replace it either nines jerseys from 2015 or 2016
