Geez I wouldn't say utterly absurd. That's utterly absurd. People will wear them because they like them.
Fans will wear the jersey with their club logo on it. I think you're reading far too much into the character angle.Geez I wouldn't say utterly absurd.
As if it isn't slightly odd that two different teams now have the same character as their special jersey over 2 seasons? How bout next year St George become spider man and roosters become iron man. Continue the merry go round.
I'm a Manly fan and we've gone through 3 different superheroes.Geez I wouldn't say utterly absurd.

I understand the method behind changing the superheroes, driving incremental revenue for the teams via more jersey sales.I'm a Manly fan and we've gone through 3 different superheroes.
For me the jerseys do nothing for me so I wouldn't purchase one but the amount of kids you see at the games wearing these jerseys is huge! By the clubs releasing a new design each time more and more people are buying them. If you have the same superhero each time the merch sales wont rise. Exactly the same as to when clubs update their home/away jerseys constantly.
Jerseys are expensive I agree. I buy one every few years . Souths issue about 8 jerseys a year which I personally think is pathetic. Would like to see max 4 jerseys a year wornI understand the method behind changing the superheroes, driving incremental revenue for the teams via more jersey sales.
I dont have to agree with it, just like i dont agree with the jerseys becoming billboards.
At some point parents will stop buying new jersey's each year, especially if in Sydney.
Buy a new jersey each year, or cover the mortgage

They don't do WIL and rarely, if ever do ANZAC.
So...off the top of my head in 2016: home, away, 9's, Indigenous, Superman vs Batman. Can't remember if they even did Heritage.

Yeah don't think you've done a heritage for a couple of years and in 2015 you did a white ANZAC day jersey that you lost to Canberra in Cairns.
Pretty sure there wasn't a Charity Shield jersey either.
That's a commemorative piece, should be counted as memorabilia and not as a playing jersey.

Sponsorship is one thing but substitution of identity is another. If one team wears a Spider-Man jersey, even over a couple of season, you could look back at old footage and say "hey, I remember when Newcastle did that".Im not so sure there's a huge difference between this and what your saying.
9 cowboys jerseys in one year. Wow.So it's 8 and not 9 then.
Cheers.
A cocksarking Cowboy perhaps?9 cowboys jerseys in one year. Wow.
Why not do a gay Pride Jersey?
