2017 Jerseys

Eh. I'm not really too fussed with those. Just stick to them for a while, create an identity and I can get behind that. But this doesn't fill me with much confidence on that front:

Not sure whether to get the home or away one... both look great. Heading up to Penrith on Sunday so hopefully I'll get a chance to see them in the flesh.

I like them, not as much as the 91 heritage jersey we has a couple years ago but still they are nice.

... although the white away looks like the launch of a new Panthers team in next year's Tour De France. Not a criticism, simply an observation.

First of all I think that after about 10 yrs of Penrith fans screaming that they relate the allsorts strip and colours to our team , the club has at last given the fans what they want and given our team our identity back.

But to be honest the top half and sleeves of the jersey look awesome..... but as for the fading bottom half our marketing team must think we are all 10 yr old children. The black and white stripes on the bottom half is what really helped with the iconic look , why not keep it.

Its not hard .. .. bring back the iconic jersey and don't mess with it... the
bottom half looks like a kids jersey.

Well RIK, most of us are. At least the majority of the jersey wearers are young and wouldn't give a crap about '91. This faded out design is modern and exciting for the new fans.

I like the black and gold designs of the past season much better (minus the f**king logo). Both are kind of ruined by the obsession with paneling on the side though.

The side panels give a good definition on TV side shots, which is most of the long shots.

I would have preferred Black/Gold too, but I'm happy enough with the new ones.
I could wear the white one as a shirt.
I hope to see the team mostly in the Black, but I wouldn't buy one, I'd just get the retro 91. Sales of the retros should increase, now that they match what's on the park..

I thought I once read somewhere that the panelling on the side might be a design feature of the on field version, allowing it to 'breathe' better and is a slightly thinner fabric. Maybe I'm just making it up.

Thing is,the only identifiable reason why they went with this design was the 1991 factor.

And it resembles more like a Broadway billboard.

In saying that,I think with a bit more intuition,they really could have done better.

I just checked out the Panther shop. The "2017" range of polos and training gear is ........how shall I put this?......um, it's black, white and f**kING GOLD !!! These are not leftovers from '16 either. They're completely new Asics designs.
"We are the Panthers and these are our colours"

Pink alternate.

Create an iconic design with those colors and we are done.

Would be so simple. I'm in the minority here, but I've always liked the pink because it gives us an identity that our main jerseys haven't.
