2017 membership renewal

I stopped my membership when they reduced the number of games at Wollongong. I've often thought about taking it up again in order to support the club. But I refuse to do so while this incompetent and apparently unaccountable board remains in place. How is it that a membership base that contributes so much financially to the club does not have a say in the running of the club or the make up of the board?

Every individual has to make their own decision. I've made mine. No Membership unless there is a new coach, OR a massive lift in the performance of team under McGregor. And I'm not talking about some more narrow victories like the past two years. Team performance, and players who are clearly improving on the field is my criteria, and if off the back of that we can win, than that will be a bonus.

This year there were only two games that i felt the team played to a standard that made me feel proud to be a supporter of a competitive NRL team. The victories over the Roosters and the Sharks.

The players will get paid whatever we do, there may be just a little less cash for Dousty's Crownies in the kitty if we withhold until change occurs.

Wake up and pay your membership. Why punish the players and our club because of a silly Board and int Coach.
I for one will be paying my famiy membership for 2017.
More fool you & btw Forster Dragon it's not punishing the players at all . The NRL provides the money for each clubs salary cap it's only the richer more influential clubs that attract more high profile players because of TPA's & BETTER COACH. This is just another gutless decision that Doust & the Board have come up with by not communicating with US FANS . I think Doust & the Boards slogan should read:
Prolong (There own positions)
Reject. (Any input from fans/members)
Submit (We know what's best)

I cancelled 10, 5 in my immediate family and 5 including my mum, sister her kids etc. Would renew without thinking twice once changes are made, for now watching on TV only.

Cancelled my NRL app subscription as well, what a rort that is, i travel a lot and cant watch matches from overseas at all, i dont know why, i have other global sporting apps and can watch anywhere but NRL merkins take my money then tell me i can only watch if i'm in Australia....how is not allowing it growing the game globally?

I wont be investing any $ until the L Plate coach is gone. Would love to see Doust gone as well but i expect that L plate would be more disposable of the two.
I will however continue to support my team & most likely go to Kogarah or the Gong to watch them.Have told the club of my decision & stated that when L plate is gone feel free to get back to me to see if i'm prepared to come on board.

I'm definitely not renewing membership, buying any merchandise, going to the leagues club. I can't even read stories about the Dragons in the newspaper or online anymore.

That's how badly the coach and the board have performed in my eyes.

The club has to show me genuine change to win me back. Starting with sacking the coach.

Until I start to see the club evolve I'm staying away.. we fans have tried so hard this year to show the club the right path out of this mess and Doust has refused to listen the whole time.

In fact he has tried to fight us on nearly every issue the fans have raised..

I love the club and hurts to be this way but the club only has themselves to blame.

L Plate is an overly generous term, it implies that he's learning and will improve. He's more like a car crash. A total write-off

While its a personal decision whether to renew or not, your choice of words make it obvious that you're exactly the kind of insipid supporter Doust and his arrogant board are counting on.

My wife and I have been RedV members for 11 years.

When RGRV came in we took the Kogarah membership only.

For 2017 we are not renewing. The reasons why have been fully documentated by other members of this forum.
Exactly my story, except next year would have been 10 years. Also have a wardrobe full of jerseys , polo tops and tshirts ... they have completely lost me .

I will only renew my kogarah membership when
(Sorry but refuse to go to WIN)
Doubt steps down
Total rebuild of coaching ranks
Fire McGregor
Fire all recruitment and retention committee
No more rookie coaches without 1st grade exp (let other teams blood new breed of coaches).
1st grade coaching should not be used as "learning on the job"

That's just a start
