I say yes but its not going to happen

I think the Cavs are better than they were a year ago and the Warriors are worse. But I still agree with you.

The Warrior have less reliance on the 3s which is the one thing the Cavs shut down with unbelievable hustle in the finals the last 2 years. So basically the Cavs will not be able to shut them down so effectively with hustle.

No way the Warriors are worse than last year. They basically replaced Harrison Barnes with Kevin Durant, I mean come on.

The Cavs have timed their run nicely and LeBron is a freak. That gives them a fighting chance but they're obviously up against it. Definitely if LeBron beats this team again we can have the GOAT conversation though.

ha-ha how the f**k do you add Kevin Durant and get worse? even with Steph a bit hobbled Draymond getting suspended, Dre going down with his back and Bogut with his knee still all wouldn't have made any difference if Barnes had managed to hit anything near his season average on all the open threes he missed.

If I remember correctly the sports UV tracking data had him at combined average from wide open 3's (defined as a defender not within 6 feet) and open 3's (defined as a defended not within 3 feet) at less than 25%. on the same shots in the regular season he made them at about 38%.

I was happy for Lebron though. the way he played in those last three games definitely cemented his legacy as the second best player of all time. if he can somehow will this team to another series win over Golden state after they have added KD and are completely healthy it definitely puts him in the conversation for the GOAT.

Still I got golden state in 5 maybe 6 if Lebron imposes his will like we all know he can.

They lost more games this year than last year. Last year they played better as a unit.

Last year they busted their balls going for the record. Absolutely no point going for it again.

Also Durant was injured for 2 months.

Apart from a couple of regressions in minor areas (e.g. Iguodala isn't the player he was last year) the 2017 Warriors would smack the 2016 Warriors in a series.

Actually comparing the play offs this year to last year the Warriors are a better side. Cavs need a miracle.

I picked the Warriors in 5 last year and obviously got that way wrong...

Looking at things right now though... adding KD... seeing how they've progressed through this season...

TBH... I don't see any reason why the Warriors shouldnt sweep them...

Maybe Lebron on his own maybe get pinch a game... but I just get the feeling all this season long anticipation for this series is going to be an anti-climax... and the Warriors could well end up blowing the Cavs out.

As for Lebron and the GOAT talk,.. that ship sailed long ago as far as I'm concerned.

Maybe if he decides to moved to the West and dominated then I'd consider him...

Going against the grain and reckon cavs will take this in my extremely limited bball knowledge and experience.

Reasons?

Gsw have a hint of arrogance in the way they move the ball around in the opps field and i think try to play too clever at times, if they dont take their shots when theyre on the cavs will go up the other end and make them pay.

Plus, outside of g1 spurs game, gsw reall havent been tested imo. You can say the same for the cavs but they've had their wakeup call against the celts.

Lebron knows how to beat gsw. He won't be second guessing himself and thatll feed into the rest of the team. The key for the cavs is irving, if he is hot then they can absolutely go toe to toe with gsw scoring... keep driving at curry who imo is a poor defender and getting the ft's - itll knock him out of his rhythm while keeping them ticking over.

Beware the 3rd quarter run of gsw.

I'll give a couple of reasons just to play devil's advocate:

- We don't really have any idea how good the Warriors are. They have played crappy teams the whole time and as soon as they were down by 25 to a team that might actually challenge them they had a massive break go their way and we never got to find out.

- Leading on from the above point, we haven't seen this iteration of the team under pressure in a big moment. Yes when everything is clicking it's great fun. What happens in a really high pressure situation that they haven't really experienced as a unit before?

- Yes their high-end talent is off the charts but their supporting cast is weaker than last year. If the shots aren't falling for the big 3 then they don't have a heap of other places to turn. In fact I would go as far as to say the Cavs have more potential options on attack than the Warriors.

- LeBron.

Lebron has spent the last decade in a conference of crappy teams... :joy::joy:

I just get the feeling the Warriors have blown everyone out purely because they have more talent than everyone else.

The whole they haven't been tested theory holds no value to me... they were taken to the brink by OKC last season and it didn't do them any good in the big moments vs the Cavs.

I honestly think people are over complicating it...

The way I see it... the Warriors were marginally the better team last season... and they just added KD.

That put considerable space between them IMO.

It is only my opinion of course...

I can't disagree, they should win. A sweep would surprise me though.

One thing is for sure, would be completely hilarious if they didn't win.

it's a blowout g1, cavs have been poor from the field and had something crazy like 18 turnovers.

just nowhere near good enough, credit to gsw d though, those turnovers don't happen by themselves.

Yeah this was what I kinda thought was going to happen...

The scary thing for the Cavs is GSW were been pretty streaky from beyond the 3pt line and could potentially blow them out even worse...

Hopefully the Cavs can fight back and make a fight out of it.

Sigh...I was hoping for a competitive finals series. It's only game one but it doesn't look promising.
