All the strips in the second half were called spot on. But they missed one that Woods did in the first tackle on Holmes.

Expecting better from the refs next game. Can't miss those, especially when it is a staple NSW tactic.

I know NSW absolutely shit the bed and should have closed the game out, but the inconsistency in these two rulings have me stunned.
Either of those get called and NSW close the game out.
NSW cottoned on and took Slater out later on, but the momentum had well and truly shifted by then.
Smith and G Cooper revelled in the ruck with the whistle put away as well. So many second efforts once a NSW player was down and trying to get back up.

It sounds like sour grapes and it probably is, but Qld adapted much better to the 'put the whistle away' approach and NSW got played as suckers by Qld and the men with the whistle.

Laurie's subterfuge failed spectacularly. He sent Woods and Co out as proxys in the media to plead with the refs to stop big bad QLD from slowing down the ruck all night. Then promptly sent Woods and Co out with a specific mission to flop around all over the tackled player and slow down the ruck all night.

The best part is listen to Gus and co front up after the loss, and the C9 pre-game package curse of Pearce and Hayne and whoever else they chose continues

Classic NSW approach - complain to the refs prior to the game about a strategy they aim to employ.

I'm convinced Hayne was concussed after he took that huge whack off the kickoff.

Questions should be asked about why he wasn't taken for an HIA given he was clearly rattled.

Qld were far sloppier in the ruck than NSW.
Laurie f**ked up by asking the whistle to be put away again.

In your opinion. Woods and Fifita were having an absolute nap every tackle and there were also several late flops by Blues that didn't get picked up. I'd call it at worst 50:50. One team were able to overcome it...

Fifita and Woods constantly flopping killed a heap of NSW momentum. Those two are experienced enough to know that milking shit isn't going to fly at Origin level.
