Foward passes let go even the great J Thurston on bended knees on the ground and threw a clanger of a foward pass in front of the refs and did nothing about it

dude had a busted shoulder man.......he gave medical certificate to the refs before the game...doc says he can't pass backwards

If we had Tedesco the last 15 mins we win. He is destined for an origin match winning play
Had his chance in game 3 last year but ran to the line like John Candy and was caught by a bloke 10 years his senior.

Had a really good first half, but like several others was quiet in the second.

I know I am biased but Moylan is the bloke I'd have wanted out there in that last set. Not at fullback, but in the halves. Teddy might have been the one to run off him. Do not be surprised if Moylan makes the bench for game 3 because NSW don't have anyone who can construct a clutch play. I hope it doesn't happen though because we need him.

With a bit of time to think about it now, I'd say I feel bittersweet about the game last night.

I'm frustrated as f**k that the squad couldn't finish the job and get that single try in the second half that would've broken Qld psychologically. I'm pissed about what a piggy-back Qld got from the refs and the fact that, apparently, there was no legitimate reason to award a penalty to NSW for the last 45 minutes of the game. Those north of the border can go on about salt and tears all they want (I know it's a nice distraction from discussing the future of their Origin team), but the notion that the refs favour certain sides isn't so ridiculous when you watch Knights games on a regular basis...

I'm not saying it was the refs' fault NSW lost. They definitely played a considerable part in it, but the reason I feel bittersweet is because last night wasn't a case of Qld blowing NSW off the park, as they often showed in years gone past. Barring Inglis, this is the best team they have available in 2017, and they were only able to win because NSW let them win. NSW let them back into the contest, strayed from the game-plan that has made them look dominant, and that was it. Qld looked very patchy throughout the game, by contrast. They'll be confident heading back to Brisbane for the decider, but they'll need to be far better than what they showed last night in order to get the win. How much game-time will Thurston have between now and then? He looked under-done last night. He needs as many games as he can get in the next 3 weeks, not more time off for surgery. Cronk, Smith and Slater? They were reasonable, but this series (and in Slaters' case, last night) they haven't shown the same menace as they have in years gone past. They'll all need to pull out a vintage performance for Game 3...

For NSW, they have less work to do than Qld over the next 3 weeks. They need to re-focus on the game-plan that's worked for them and re-find that discipline they showed in the series opener. No stupid hospital balls or clumsy strips in tackles. Keep looking for points, focus on completing sets, let the war of attrition take its' course and they'll have a distinct edge on this Qld side with 20 minutes to go. If the decider was in Melbourne or Sydney I'd be more confident of them re-grouping and winning. They can definitely win Game 3 in Brisbane, but I'm not sure if they'll be allowed to.

'Allowed' being the key word there...

You were going well until this point, which is where I stopped reading. It was 20% refs and 80% NSW ineptitude last night, and from what I've seen of the Knights the ratio is similar. You'll note that Nathan Brown never whinges about the refs, but he does point out where his team went wrong.

Yep, QLD looked gone from about the Pearce try. I don't remember an Origin game were everyone was waiting so long (30 minutes?) for what seemed like the inevitable final nail in the coffin.
Also Qld weren't good in the second half.

How long have you been watching Origin the last decade? QLD don't have to be good for 80 mins or even 40 mins. They just need a sniff of an opportunity. NSW played practically the complete game in Game 1.

2nd half game 1/first half game 2 score line was NSW 32- 6 QLD. We're now discussing a series locked at 1-1

Last night, Graham gave them the breaks. He gave them options which weren't there for the first 120' of this series.

The critical time in the game for QLD was the first 10' of the second half. They just had to hold the fort while Glasby and Papallii were still in the middle. They did. NSW had to put the foot to the throat here.

QLD play Origin like a tennis match. They win the critical points!

Had an ankle injury in the 2nd half then went off with a HIA hence he was quiet. But I agree with the Moylan sentiment, he needs to be there

Gagai and Chambers did a lot of territory work in that first half. I wonder if that was a ploy to keep McGuire and Napa fresh for defending Fifita and Woods, and then leave some juice in the tank for their final onslaught in the second half or whether it just turned out that way due to NSW targeting Gagai's side repeatedly and avoiding Holmes for much of the match.

Targeting Oates in game 1 was a good ploy. He's a big fella. Gagai had the stamina to keep going though.

It seems targeting the winger is the only game plan Daley has brought to the series.

If you'd just read the very first sentence of the next paragraph you'd see that I wasn't solely blaming the refs...

Also Trobjevic needs to play more minutes or atleast start. Best NSW forward last night by a country mile yet he wasn't even on the field when we needed him the most

Absolutely beautiful to read. NSWankers have perfected the post game meltdown/blame the refs/turn on each other.

It is an artform that Never Stops Whinging have mastered.

You were saying?

And then there's the match-threads from previous games that prove a glass house is still made of glass, even if tinted maroon...
