Raiders, what going on with the Raiders?

I'll tip them by 22 to really get their season back on track. But if they lose this,Ricky will lose his mind.

This Year?

I found this game to be hardest to tip, so I'll go the Raiders just because they are the home team.

Easts have players out - so Raiders. Though most would feel Pearce's absence is a plus for Easts.
Ridiculous but probably true.

But as we know Pearce's absence was amazing for us last year!

I mean, any team without the leagues form halfback is bound to be better :D

I just hope he proves his critics wrong next Wednesday. I'd hate to see NSW lose so a whole lot of folks can say, "I told you so!"

I like Pearce
It's not his fault he's NSW's best halfback in an era where QLD have routinely had the 4-5 best players in the world
He's a gun player, you could swap him and JT around in every series of SOO and I doubt NSW win more than maybe 1 extra series. 10-1 or 9-2 who cares

The shit Pearce cops as a footballer is really ridiculous imo

Do we even have a halfback?
This is true. Sezer looks like an amateur just happy to run around a footy field with a bunch of NRL players.

Speaking of the Raiders; wtf is with your depth this year? You have like 16 good to great players and then a bunch of Sunday Leaguers filling out the top 25.

We are pretenders this year. Our spine is not living up to expectations and neither of our halves are playing first grade standard this year. I seriously don't think we will beat the Roosters or make the semis. Seriously.

we're going into this game with a pretty strong starting 13, bench has some debutants.

Aubusson will do a decent defensive job in the centres on the right, the left side attack should remain ruthless as the last 2 weeks.

Pearce is a big loss but Watson is a very talented kid. Keary will run the show but our kicking game might suffer a bit.

If JWH leads the forwards well we should come out on top.

I think there's still a lot of people thinking your blokes will make a serious charge and still sneak into the top 4. It's going to take a big end to the season, I just don't understand how a side can look so good one year can be so pedestrian for the first half of the next season without wholesale changes to the roster.
Raiders are the sort of team that can buck the trend of sides not winning the comp from outside the 4.. but Sticky has a big job on his hands.

As said above the Roosters have a solid 13. Gordon, Tupou, Mitchell, Aubusson, Keary, JWH, Friend and SST are all good and key leaders (Aubusson, JWH and Friend) are in the team.

Connor Watson shouldn't be underestimated either.

If Thurston was a NSWelshman and Pearce a Queenslander, Mitch would be yet to make his Origin debut. Even when Cronk was out in 2014 Pearce was on Yellow Dress punishment. I suspect it'd be closer than 9-2 as well but we're talking about a parallel universe here so it hardly matters.

The Mitchell Pearce conundrum: NSW cannot win with him, the Roosters cannot win without him. The Raiders to win this by as many as they want.

It's not really a conundrum at all if you think about it. NSW haven't been able to win because QLD have had a much better team over the last decade. Very little to do with whether Pearce plays or not.

Roosters to bitch as much as Brisbane about origin and the refs giving them a hard time.

I know you don't want the roosters to win but don't use made up stats to back your position.

The roosters are actually 5-2 in pre origin matches during Robbo's tenure thus far. The 2 losses came last year with Pearce playing. 3 of the wins were in 2014 with Pearce playing. The other 2 were wins without Pearce.

Canberra are still warm favourites but i don't think it will be all on their own terms.
