penrith beat us up very convincingly last time, luckily they wont have jordan rankin to give them repeat set after repeat set this sunday though. brooks will be sending lawrence and teddy at TMM all afternoon, his 'efforts' on saturday made our halves look like dallas johnson.

wingers are criminally under rated in the modern game. for 100 years they were quick guys who finished off moves. these days they are responsible for starting your sets, defusinf grubbers/bombs, shutting down third man plays and finishing off tries from impossible situations. missing mansour and dwz are huge blows for penrith. gone are the days when you can stick your reserve grade center/fullback on the wing and hope for the best. if nofoaluma didnt play friday the tigers job would have been much harder.

our first 6 weeks are very tough. we have souths, panthers, raiders, cowboys, dragons and storm. i felt we needed to beat souths and saints then jag 1 win against the other 4 and i would have been satisfied. hopefully its this week but if not we still need a strong showing. ill go tigers by 4 with zero confidence.

Last week Wests tigers scored all their points whilst it was basically 13 v 12 (which was for most of the game). I doubt they will be as lucky this week. Penriff 13+

Did you not watch Panthers last week? They didnt defend with 13 at any point.

The same area they carved Souths up is where Panthers are most vulnerable.

Tigers could win big here

If the Tigers play just like last week, and the Panthers play just like last week, then yes the Tigers will run riot. And if that continues to happen throughout the season, the Tigers will finish in the top 4 and we will come last. But I'm willing to predict that what happened last week will have very little bearing on this match or subsequent ones. Throughout the history of rugby league this has been so, and it will be again.

Last week was 1967 in reverse, same clubs, but it was round 4. Dragons premiers for the past 11 years, Panthers premiers in second division. Panthers 24 Dragons 12. I was there. The scoreline flattered the Dragons. So where did those two teams finish that year? Dragons minor premiers, Panthers 2nd last.

Although there was a lot to like about the Tigers performance last week, we were still pretty bad imo. Forgetting the scoreline, we still made 12 errors compared to 7 for Souffs

We also missed a bunch of tackles between 30-40 I believe, and had our usual 20 minute fade out near the end

We were lucky we had a fairly easy opponent

I cant gauge Tigers yet. Beat Souths yes, but they had Inglis on the field which is basically 12 players on the field.

Souths have bog average team, so again i cant get a gauge on them.

Penrith played like bitches, if they do again, Tigers no doubt, if they play half better than last week, we could win.

Tipping Tigers though, Penrith to string it together by round 4

DWZ drops out of panthers 21, big blow for them.

tigers dropped rankin and hunt, i suspect we'll keep the same 17 as last week.
