John Cartwright has reiterated his hopes of taking over from good friend Trent Barrett at Manly while shock contender Jason Taylor has quickly ruled himself out of the race.

Taylor is holidaying with his family in Asia but told Fairfax Media on Thursday he was committed to coaching North Sydney in 2019 and not interested in the Sea Eagles gig.

Just think, Manly are an absolute basket case right now, and can’t even find anyone to coach them next year...and we still finished below them.

That’s how f**ked up our club is. And people want to sack BA? What if no one else wants to come here!

At least we've had an independent review into what went wrong and are putting structures into place so it doesn't happen again. Manly aren't doing anything to fix their problem.

They're a big reason against privatisation in the NRL.
