Cronulla Sharks 28 def Canberra Sutton’s 24

Glad we could dig deep and grind out the win even with the atrocious calls against us. Was blantant that the NRL wants the race for the top 8 to be exciting but even with the bias we were to good for Canberra.

I dont give a shit about the touchie flag try
Rule 1 of any sport is play to the whistle. we didnt and got what we deserved on that front. Instead of playing footy, we stood around gesturing at officials. Exactly as Stuart would have it

THe forward pass call was one of the worst calls we've seen this season and was ultimately the difference. That is inexcusable. It wasnt EVEN CLOSE to being forward, the officials should be demoted for that call, and Stuart should feel free to let fly regarding that appalling decision.

Raiders legitimately screwed over tonight only partially makes up for years of Skeepes crying over very little previously.

First question to sticky "were you robbed tonight?". Ricky said he just gave it to the players for not playing to the whistle.

No definitive proof that it wasn’t a knock on - went up as no try.

THE f**kING TOUCH JUDGE PUT HIS f**kING FLAG UP! YOU CANNOT PLAY ON FROM THAT POINT!
For once we can agree on something. Because the Touchie put his flag up, that was it. The play had too stop. Did he knock it on? No. You can see the ball go past the hands and the ball didn’t change its spin revolutions as it passed. Still, as I said at first, the play had to stop when the flag went up and the ref put the whistle to his mouth!

the game doesnt stop unless the on field official makes it so
the touchie can put his flag up his arse and have IBM felch from the end of the flag and the game would continue until the on field official blew he whistle

no whistle was blown to my knowledge, play on. We have to play to that. We didnt. That's on us.

I thought the same thing, but went to the rule book. Something in there about having to go by touchies rulings, can't over rule him. He puts flag up when ball goes into touch.

Seems to me like flag goes up he has to blow time off at least (Flags go up when they see an indiscretion like a fight or something).

Yep. Giving up is inexcusable. Especially considering that as the touchie had already called a knock on the referee would most likely have gone with that call on the next tackle and it would have been a scrum.

Flag up indicates it did. Referee cannot over rule touch judge.

I argued with people over it earlier. But I've changed my mind after revisiting rule book.

The touchie erred
He put his flag up when a whistle hadnt blown... you can change your mind all you like. The game doesnt stop for a flag unless the play went into touch... and even then it doesnt stop, as we've seen on try scoring situations where the flag goes up and on field ref goes to the video

the play stops only when the on field referee stops it. End of story. He didnt blow his whistle. We didnt play to the whistle. That's on us.
