With the amount of money in the broadcast rights and advertising which originates from the QLD market, the NRL presumably needs at least one Brisbane team (and preferably the Broncos) in the finals - ideally deep in the finals.

When refereeing mistake after mistake that favours Brocnos happens at the point in time in the season when all other QLD teams are out of the race, it honestly wouldn’t surprise if the refs were given a direction to ref favouring the Broncos to help produce that outcome.

Where there is $$$ at stake these sorts of things are bound to occur.
