The biggest curse in Rugby League. Bigger than Roosters-Tigers. Bigger than Dragons-Bulldogs. It is 17-1 since 2006. We haven't got within 20 of them in the last 6 meetings, and those have been quite successful years for us.They even flogged us twice when we last won the comp. Last year we lost by 22 with 58% of possession.

It must end sometime. When better than when we're in the worst form imaginable, in a match neither side needs to win. The Storm would need to lose badly to give up the minor premiership and cannot finish lower than 2nd, and while we'll be guaranteed a final in Sydney if we win, that might happen anyway and against a less in form opponent, depending on other results. I'd nearly be tempted to rest Maloney for this one, but I doubt that will happen if he's fit.

It's also mathematically possible they meet again in successive weeks at the same joint, two upsets with a bit of points difference made up is all that is required. That would be just bizarre, but evil forces have been at work between these sides for a long time now.

Hope the Panthers treat this more or less as a trial and have a bit of fun. They don't seem to have enjoyed themselves much lately.

Storm unless they rest players now that top 2 is all but confirmed. They could rest players, especially if souths lose on thursday.

Storm will probably want to lose this one to avoid having to play the sharks in week 1 of the finals.

There is prestige in winning the minor premiership. The Storm will come out all guns a-blazing. What is worse is our best back line defender is missing in Whare which makes the outlook all the more bleak for us.

If anything,Penrith should approach this game with a Devil may care attitude and simply play ad lib football. We are still in the finals so resting Maloney does sound like a plausible idea given that he will benefit from an extended break.

But anyway,I'll go for a shock, boilover of a win for the Panthers by an overwhelming 16 points...or 32 by the Storm.

Isn’t it a few hundred grand prize for the MP as well?

Pointless game, 2 sides in the top 8 playing off against each other is just not good for the game, I expect a surfeit of people not giving a single f**k about this game

You've got too much time on your hands to think up a bizarre comment like that !
