Tuesday morning he is clearly discussing Cleary and '19.....not 2 years from now!.....that's the difference with how "most" orhers conduct business. If you dont thinkthe pamthers management have egg all over their face now then have anorher look later in the week.

Everything you have said is speculation. He could be talking about Bennett for all we know. I don't see egg over talking to Ivan. I see an omelette over getting dragged into refuting Hooks account of things.

Forget going on TV, release a press statement "The club emphatically denies his allegation the club was in a bad state at the time of his arrival. It should be noted the club won the NYC, Jersey Flegg...blah,blah, no further comments will be made". Facts stated, point made. Finish.

Go.back and look at Gus's comments from Tuesday....plus he said they had to let hook go because ivan was going to speak to his club so it was the right thing to do by the guy ( yeah right...anyway) ..even though Ivan never had an offer put to him??. ....dont be so blind...just because it wasnt in writing doesnt mean he wasn't induced to break his contract in private which he obviously did consider..Cleary has calmed it down so just move on. As for pascoe and Go....theyve done and said exactly what they needed to....she never returned Gould's call which was also exactly what he's needed for sometime

Gus isn't saying all the facts. Hook overstated his version... Happens all the time. Media are quick to want it all sorted. Most of us fans want them to wait...

IMO Ivan will be at Tigers until his contract expires unless Tigers sack him. Media have probably blown the whole situation out of proportion. Filling in the blanks to blow the story up.

We have no reason to need him now. Our main reason for wanting him is to keep Nathan here. Which only requires Ivan to come here sometime in the future. What do we care if Ivan is here in 2019 or 2021?

Yep, in the end most of the fuss has turned out to be media bullshit.
Gus really hasn’t done anything wrong, everyone except Griffin is happy he is gone and ciraldo will get a chance to coach.

The excitement over Nathan’s signature is stirring all this up and I’m sure we will have a new scandal to sell some papers next week.

We can probably already guess it.

Tigers are probably just trying to find another coach before they release him & get the wheels in motion. Have only read an article about what he said but from the comments I’ve read, I don’t think he’s closed the door entirely.

I think we’ll still get him for next year.

This would not surprise me at all.

Now that I've had time to think about the past week we have the following facts:

1. Panthers Board talk to Ivan.

2. Panthers discuss possible move in 2021 but Ivan pushes for 2019. This was leaked by media and later confirmed by Gus. Reasonable chance of being true.

3. Ivan keeps it secret for two weeks.

4. Panthers Sack Griffin and Panthers say we have a "target" for 2019.

5. Tigers get unnecessarily defencive about releasing Ivan although we have no contract offered.

6. Ivan stays silent for a week finally releasing a pre-scripted speech which makes Panthers look worse.

What makes most sense is that Panthers wanted to be able to say to Nathan is that Ivan was sorted for 2021 so we'd get a 5 year deal minimum. Ivan got keen to coach Nathan and pushed for 2019 probably making promises about getting a release. Panthers backed him but the Tigers played hardball and Ivan backflipped to save face when public opinion shifted. Panthers get left looking like the villain.
