Love to know where Webster gets that 18k figure from.

Maybe Beattie thinks it the Brisbane sharks v the Brisbane Titans.

Good to see the NRL "take control" of the draw, whilst being seemingly completely dictated to bu the TV networks.

Lmao.

Definitely should not do it two years in a row
The best thing to do is move it to a different location every year
I reckon Eden Park, Optus Stadium, Adelaide Oval and perhaps even the revamped ANZ should be potential venues in the future

It's looking like it'll be fairly successful, so Id say they're gonna stick to it
It'll surely go on the road to the highest bidder each year, and eventually, I think we'll see it overseas

Ground like Optus and AO might be hard as the AFL have at least 1 game every week at those don't they?

Peter Beattie just said 130,000 tickets sold.

That’s an average of 16,250, which is above the NRL average, meaning it is a positive for crowds.

Then if you go through each game and imagine it at the home team’s ground (Mothers Day weekend too):

Thursday night Sharks @ Gold Coast: 10k
Friday 6pm Panthers @ Leichhardt: 13k
Friday 8pm Broncos @ Brookie: 13k
Sat 3pm Knights @ ANZ/Dogs: 11k
Sat 5.30pm dragons @ NZ: 13k
Sat 7.30pm: Eels @ AAMI: 15k
Sun 2pm: Raiders @ SCG/Roosters: 12k
Sun 4pm: Cowboys @ ANZ/Souths: 12k

I really don’t think a single crowd would reach the 16k average we would get.

Magic Weekend = winner for crowds

Does a 4 day pass = 4 tickets or 1 ?

There’s no need for it to be in Brisbane next year. Send it to Perth, Adelaide maybe even Melbourne they will pay to go to the opening of an envelope.
Swapping around venues would be ok, I just don’t think two years in a row at the same venue is a great idea.

Yep Storm vs Eels will be massive.

Go Parra.
The good news is that Sunday also got a corker. Roosters v Raiders, could have been a shit one but a top four!

Tonight will look good because sales mostly restricted to lower bay.

Friday will look bad for the first game but fill for the broncos.

The only place overseas that makes sense is NZ but even then it would be tough for prime time TV out here.
I think state and local councils chipping in 5mill might get it to places like Melbourne, Perth, Parramatta, Newcastle and maybe Canberra when they have a decent stadium.
