Newcastle had one 30 minutes down the road in Gosford!
I suppose if you have the advantage of a Government owned ground you don’t want anybody else to get the same!
What is this

Our ground was three hills and a falling apart grandstand. It was non-compliant with NRL standards, had next to no seating and no media facilities. The two rounds of redevelopment between 2003-2010 were entirely suitable for the only stadium in the 2nd largest city in NSW. There are two national sporting teams using the ground, as well as the occasional rugby game/motorcross event.

Penrith is a suburb in a city with what will be 3 major main stadiums (SFS, Homebush, WSS).

The only reason Penrith wont make the sensible move to WSS is pokie machines.

Would you say Cronulla or Manly should pay at Allianz or Bankwest? They are both closer than Penrith is to Bankwest.
Why was Parramatta rebuilt when Homebush is within a stone throw?

I just saw the 5.5k posted for last nights match. First of all, congratulations to those that turned up. For those that paid, how much were they charged?
NRL, take note, if the fans aren’t turning up, there’s a problem, and it’s f**king obvious what it is

Sorry Bruv, but both Brookvale and Shark Park are farther away from Bankwest than Penrith Park.

Cronulla is 38km away
Manly is 40km away

Penrith is 32km away.

Parramatta was rebuilt as it has two major tenants and serves the geographical heart of Sydney.

It seems that the novelty of a shiny new stadium has worn off pretty quickly. Very small crowd tonight at BankWest. A new state of the art stadium in the middle of rugby league heartland and people are all ready over it. Where are all the West’s fans? And aren’t a high % of roosters supporters not from the East? I really thought that this stadium would generate higher crowds

I’m starting to think that the ‘too many clubs in Sydney’ argument has legs

Parramatta are averaging over 20,000 at Bankwest and that's a side who won the spoon in '18 and have been very inconsistent this year.

The tigers have more homes that a gypsy and are playing in the heart of Parramatta, when they are supposed to be promoting the game in the Campbelltown region.

It will never work for Wests/balmain in Parramatta. Its the eels home and always will be

The "too many clubs in Sydney bullshit" has left rugby league in northern Sydney in a precarious state! Keep whiteanting this code and its well recognised top flight clubs in its biggest city and the downfall of this envied competition will eventually occur.

So in the view of some people here, reducing the number of teams in Sydney wouldve led to a bigger crowd tonight.

In reality, it wouldve led to the same crowd, with fewer teams in Sydney. Or do people think that all Sharks fans or whatever are gonna convert and start attending other clubs?

Your tape seems to be stuck on continuous replay

I note that grim reality isn't well received by some on this site. Northern Sydney is now a basket case for rugby league and a growth pot for union and other codes. Keep on the same tact and the same will happen elsewhere in Sydney. It seems a few enjoy making the same mistakes on this site with the intent to hurt this code. Whiteanting established clubs surely doesn't strengthen this envied competition!
