The continued dominance of the Melbourne Storm and to a lesser extent the Roosters is killing much of the hype around the NRL finals and grand final imo. I think a lot of people are burnt out on seeing the Storm going deep into finals year after year after year.

If the Raiders make the GF i think there will be a massive uptake of tickets, Raiders fans will be coming out the woodwork

This same thing has been posted on this forum for the past 10+ years and no one ever backs it up with any data. Facts are that storm games continue to rate highly and I believe the highest rating finals game this week involved the storm. This idea that everyone is tuning out because they don’t want to watch the storm is demonstrably BS.

Surely by the Prelims the most appropriate ground to cater for the potential crowd in that teams city should be the priority.

The finals are run by the NRL and from what I can recall the Prelim is home city, not home ground. You would think that if the NRL want it at ANZ the Roosters have no say.
