I don't think the Raiders should get home semi final until they have a 35k capacity modern stadium. We are talking bush league stuff here.

Wouldn't the whole idea of moving it to ANZ be a money grab? yet you reckon we should give away 30k free tickets almost

Genius

No it would be about getting 20k more bums on seats. I don't care about the money at all. I think a fair few neutrals would get to ANZ to back the Raiders.

The NRL probably doesn't see it that way

f**k that. Raiders home final should be about making it as uncomfortable for the opposition as possible

What the NRL should do with the semi is have them at ANZ or allow the participant city (Canberra, Melbourne) to bid for it. Get a couple of mill out of them that way.

The NRL could have looked at shifting it to ANZ and in exchange allowing Raiders members and their friends free entry into the best seats and free train.

Plus allow them to bring that gong and do whatever else to make it their home game.

Yeah because if you knock off at 5pm on Friday in Canberra you can definitely make it to ANZ for a 7.50pm kick off.

Less than 1% of the total audience for this game will be in person. People suggesting that we should have to play this game at Souths home ground so an extra 5,000 can come to it are so lost it’s not funny.

It's fine.

If a Prelim was held against a non-Sydney team in Sydney the crowd would be dog shit.

They earned it, they should get it.

If a non Sydney team is involved, it should always be a Saturday game and if both games involve a non Sydney team it should be Saturday and Sunday.
I mean, the reverse is true here where because it is Friday not many Sydney fans will be travelling down to Canberra in which case the ACT government is going to say "so what the game isn't leading to any tourism from Sydney". The GWS presumably get paid good $$ because their fans or Melbourne fans travel to Canberra.

If I thought it was just an extra 5k I would agree but I think it will be more like an extra 20k and if it was Parra rather than Rabbitohs it would be an extra 30k.

This idea that you have a right to a home semi final, why not demand a home grand final as well?

f**k off muppet. Every other team has the right to a home final, why not Canberra?

Go bathe in a vat of acid you fetid carbuncle.

Dumbest argument ever. Canberra is a whole different city to Sydney and is hours away by car. Might as well play the game in China.

Also this isn’t some backwater shithole that struggles to hold 18K people. 25K+ is enough IMO. It’ll make a good profit and look incredible on TV.

Most importantly though it’s a huge reward for the fans that come week in week out.

Would Manly get to play a semi at Brookvale? Surely not. Yet they have "earned it".

Totally the same situation. I’d like to think you’re just trolling but that’s giving you too much credit.

Canberra earned the right to host a home prelim. No way in hell should it be moved to Sydney.

I'm looking forward to the atmosphere down there on Friday - it's going to be great.
