Hooray! It's interesting how most nfl stadiums are built to around 65-75 k capacity..
They could comfortably fill 120k stadiums for every game of the year but choose fan comfort and sight lines over the $$

You have no idea, have you seen how much they charge for tickets? It's interesting how most nfl stadiums are built to around 65-75 k capacity..

We do for the GF and state of origin.
So 2 games? Yippee...
It looks awful the rest of the year. There is no reason you can't have a GF in a packed 60,000 seat stadium, and you could justify putting the prices up.

Broncos v Tigers 21k
Titans v Panthers 9k
Cowboys v Storm 17k
Rabbits v Warriors 10k
Knights v Manly 22k
Sharks v Roosters 14k
Dragons v Bulldogs 14k
Raiders v Eels 13k
Should of keep with the 15.5k average
Broncos v tigers shaping for 22-23k. Possible showers too.
When we already have an 80,000 seat stadium is plenty of reason.
We shouldn’t use ANZ at all for the rest of the season. Bulldogs and souths can play elsewhere. And 10k in a 60k stadium would still look shit.
So keep an 80k stadium for 2 games...that is silly. The upkeep costs would far outweigh those two games. A 50 to 60k stadium is the right size.
This is bizarre logic. The MCG routinely only gets between 30-70k for most matches but holds 100k. Should we reduce its size because it only gets filled three times a year?So keep an 80k stadium for 2 games...that is silly. The upkeep costs would far outweigh those two games. What do you need for game day experience? EPL clubs don’t have cheer leaders, entertainment or juniors playing on the pitch and they sell out stadiums weekly.
If the stadiums were fit for purpose the game itself would be all the game day experience you would need.
You could have free blow jobs in the concourse but 15,000 people in ANZ is always going to lead to a shit game day experience.

"To build an 80k stadium"?It's not bizarre at all. The MCG had 17 crowds >70k and 10 crowds >80k last year. I don't think your comparisons are even close to how often ANZ gets a high % crowd there. The numbers suggest the capacity the MCG has is just right. Not to mention Boxing day v England and the 80k+ crowd for big bash that has been recorded in recent years. To build an 80k stadium for two events per year seems like a massive waste of money. Especially when most times it is used is well below 50% capacity
"To build an 80k stadium"?
IT'S ALREADY THERE. Why are we talking about getting rid of, or reducing its capacity?
Reducing the capacity of the city's largest stadium is moronic. End of story. So just changing the configuration so the lower bowl supports a rectangular structure will work? Those upper decks will feel miles away from the action and will look stupid? The stadium is already 20 years old. Will a touch up now be of any consequence when it will need attention within the next decade on the upper structure? For mine its a rebuild to a smaller capacity, quality rectangular stadium than some hybrid structure to fit a small rectangle peg in a big oval hole.
