Any system that has Josh Jackson as the best 2nd rower in 2018 is broken. So I demand a recount!Doesn't this belong in the 'Ownership of being wrong 2018' thread?

Might be worth noting that Maloney was leading the Dally M count heading into the lockout but didn't pick up another vote last night.

It favours good players in shit teams

Luke Brooks for example. It favours good players in shit teams
Not always. Round 23 Tom Turbo 3 tries, 2 try assists. 5 line breaks yet 0 points. The whole system is flawed
That system is clearly flawed.
Brooks was a poor choice for halfback of the year. But atleast ypu can see how he got there.
Yeah that part comes down to whoever the judge was. There were some really weird choices in a lot of games.
.
Yes you are correct. It was a game in which St George was playing, their opposition team, I am not sure about.Wasn't there a game judged by R Simms where she didn't even attend or watch the game???
That system is clearly flawed.
Jackson and BJ though. How were they even in contention? We have 3 centres who had better seasons then BJ and both Yeo and Kikau were ahead of Jackson. And I dont think even our guys should have won those spots.
The team of the year shouldnt be based on dally m votes. Every week a panel should give a 3/2/1 to the top 3 players in each position across that round. Those votesshould determine who the best half or centre etc.was.
Not a perfect system. As the votes themselves could be debatable. But atleast it should be a bit more likely to give a decent result.
Players are named in the side based on the number of Dally M points they accrue throughout the season after a change to the system that used to rely on a selection panel to pick the best player in each position.

I thought St George was involved? I am pretty certain that Tarq was the player she voted for.Parramatta v Manly.

My error. Thanks. It was definitely the Parra v Manly game. She gave points to the players with the most points, most metres and most tackles because she didn't watch the game.
Thanks. This was the game that got her into trouble. I don't know of previous voting record with Tariq.
Ruan Sims has stood down as a Dally M judge following revelations the Jillaroos star voted on a game despite playing for local club Cronulla at the same time.
Under NRL rules, a judge for the prestigious award must be in attendance before placing votes immediately after the game.
Social media picked up on the scheduling clash between Sims' game and the NRL fixture, sparking uproar online over the weekend and verbal accusations towards the World Cup winner.
Sims clarified the incident in a statement on Monday before announcing she would step down from the role.
"There was a late change in my playing schedule and this meant I was unable to attend the Eels vs Sea Eagles match live," the statement read.
"I understand there is a requirement to watch matches live when judging for Dally M points. I respect the game and more importantly I value the integrity of the game above all else.
"My mistake was an honest one, albeit a mistake that I should not have made.
"For this reason I have made the decision to stand down as Dally M judge."
