The place is a mess right now.

The Panthers media team tried to get the message out yesterday afternoon to say this was the plan all along to name a captain eventually. This was to try control the situation and make the Tamou announcement look normal and planned.

Ivan Cleary in today's press conference says that it was not planned at all.

So what is going wrong at the Panthers?

Apart from the off-season from hell due to the porno video series scandal and Gus Gould being on the outer, I’m getting word from the players that they weren’t pushed as hard as in recent years.

With veteran trainer Ron Palmer now gone from the club, players took a few short cuts - and the results are there for all to see on the field.

Touted as possible grand finalists by some critics before a ball was kicked, the Panthers now appear in danger of missing the finals altogether given their form in the early rounds.

Ha ha Ronnie Palmer has been gone for years.

Would also free up some money, maybe we can get a hooker? Unless they factored in Maloney leaving early already.

If Maloney is leaving early you would hope we are getting someone of quality in.

You know when Gus is interested in a off contract player. He either praises them no stop during commentary or goes quiet when their name comes up.

Yep, was saying this last year. The squad hasn’t been built properly at all. We’ve had tunnel vision in regards to juniors.
