geez Murdock has gone full genius on Labour but that's no real surprise

he had a huge affect on the latest British election a few years back with his ownership of the British media, he really does highlight the issues with media ownership in Australia and how one person can have such an affect on controlling how people think by continually producing the same articles day in day out

there really is no balance on perspective from Australian media with this merkin having so much influence

Yeah but which media ? There are some sections of the media that are trying very hard to swing the momentum towards one side.

Miranda Devine has posted an Op-ED saying that Christians who are shocked by the treatment of Izzy Folau now have a taste of what life will be like under labor.

The media will all be the same soon, Channel 9 is dragging Fairfax towards the middle and will eventually get them to the right.

I know they are trying to keep Scomo in at their overlords behest, but this angle makes no sense, why would the supposed closeness of the election be a way to sway voters? I think they just wan't to keep people clicking on stupid articles about who smirked more today.

And they aren't good at managing that. Under the Gillard/Rudd government we had the best performing economy according to the OECD, and now we're 34th best peforming (out of 36)

No they aren't brilliant, neither are the other mob. That's probably why both parties are less than 40% on popularity.

Really Pink Batts disaster, the clunkers for cash, unemployment now? and why the need to get rid of Gillard when things were going so well.
Employment recent
15-24 age bracket 59% highest since 2011
25-52 81% highest till before 2011
55-64 63.8%. ditto.

Last Budget surplus by Labor was in 1989.It's all very well to have the deficits to fund things but someone has to pay in the end.Future generations? Just ask the NT Govt about spending.
I can live beyond my means ,but reality eventually hits.

And the "liberal are good at saving your money and labor are good at spending your money" LNP government have doubled the debt since 2013.

That's a very uninformed comment.

LOL I've heard her contributions.Environment important.Drive a big SUV, spent hundreds of thousands on a new home additions, yet no solar panels.

Sheepishly says she supports franking credits. And has the backing of extreme left Get Up , which at last reports is not on the ballot box.And anyone and I don't care if it's Abbott or the Chain Saw Massacre Guy, puts down someone involved in the lifesaving movement, needs to be held accountable.

Sorry, Zali is just another celebrity candidate there to knock off Abbott.I'd rather someone like Albanes trying to knock of Abbott. Not some Jonny come lately.
If you get a hung parliament all these Independents are going to create merry hell.

There is no budget surplus by LNP either. As much as they attempted to present the last budget as a "black in black" surplus budget, it is only a projection into the 20/21 year. How many times did Hockey promise a surplus. Mr back in black is doing a dance on a projected surplus after his party doubled the debt. Nice spin.

The history lesson arguing is stupid, hey remember that time the Liberal PM faked his own death and put a curse on the Sharks because he hated what his party had become, yeah, that's why you shouldn't vote for Scomo.

Makes as much sense as comparing 1989 to 2019

Everyone with a mortgage is a dud, and their families should abandon them and look for an alpha male.
What sort of dope runs their household in a defecit year in year out.
Why is everyone so concerned with a surplus on a federal level, while ensuring their housing 'investments' run at a loss?

Well mate it seems that you have made up your mind, so I won't bother with a rebuttal, except to say that Steggall is a highly credentialed candidate, a gold medal winner in her previous life and now a highly successful barrister. She describes herself as a small L liberal and as much as you say she has no policies, has plenty. They're the facts.

Well aware of the comment, they are talking financial, year 2020.
The deficits have been reduced gradually over the years.
Where did all the surplus go after Costello set it up?
Let's face it ,all the promises that are being made by Labor (and there are a stack )are based on premises. If the world economy gets into deep shyte, their so called project surplus .
I've been around political promises long enough to know snakeoil spin."No child will live in poverty still rings in my ears, and I voted for Hawke".

And we'll definitely get a surplus because Bowen and shorten say so.Still waiting for Shorten to get back to the miner guy about his tax question on his big income. The I'll get back to you, is a deflection nothing more.

Agree, I posted the same thing earlier in the week. Our debt vs GDP is tiny. We should be building high speed rail, highways, NBN and whatever else you can think of to drive growth.

Labor created the recession and the GFC, everyone who reads the tele knows that.

She has apparently never voted Liberal.
She is a well educated and smart lady, never suggested otherwise.IMO she is being used by the likes of the get Ups and the young Turnbull. You can predict that she will overwhelmingly back Labor if they and they will get into Govt. When divisions are made.

Now I have at least admitted to voting for Labor and the Libs.Im see positive in polities of both parties.
My attitude is look after those who cannot fend for themselves, the sick and the aged and those who find themselves in a position of poverty through no fault of themselves..I want my children to have a career, live in a clean environment, live in country that is secure ,has the facilities and infrastructure available.I don't want them to have to repay debt incurred by previous Govt's.

Nothing wrong with deficits or mortgages.I actually have one.
It's the ability to repay when the sh*t hits the fan.

Umm the Global Financial Crisis ? History is not your thing, is it ?

Quite the contrary dear Watson.I took a big personal financial hit with the GFC.
Um!! Costello finished December 2007 as we know.
How would Kevin 07 have managed the GFC without the surplus Costello created?Taking into account the Pink batts stuff up, which resulted in deaths and companies going down the tube.

The funny part Graeme Richardson the old Labor stalwart(for which I have. a lot of time for) described Rudd as one of the worst PMs this country has seen.

The past voting and links to GetUp! and Turnbull2 is just scaremongering from the LNP playbook. There is no substance to what you say.

I think we all share your dreams. I too want my children to have a career, but not to be burdened by $100k degrees. Clean environment won't happen whilst the LNP support coal and are chock full of climate change deniers, secure borders - both parties are basically on the same page and with debt I think you are being overly obsessed with the need to have a surplus. The LNP have increased the debt as has Trump in the USA. I think that the days of conservative governments claiming the "good money managers" title have long gone.

The Tele has Buzz Rothfield say no more.
You can start with the Freedie Macs and Fannie Maes in the USA,and mortgage brokers there.
