next year we'll see teams purposefully kicking the ball at their own trainers, why wouldn't they if it means they somehow get the ball back

Not sure what "everyone missed". Two separate conversations.

Should get no advantage from trainers interfering with play (and they should not be needed after 3 minutes). Probably was a penalty to the Roosters, and if it hadn't been interfered with and Raiders ran away downfield and score, may have gone to the video and been called as such.

But that doesn't mean that a rule against trainers interfering isn't blatantly needed seeing that happen.
