Let's see eh. You won't get us after a grueling season and coming off a WCC like round 1 this year. Looking forward to the match up once again. The rivalry does not disappoint these days.

That should be ideal. An afternoon game would be better if I decide to travel to Canberra, especially if it is on during the depths of their winter! Round 3 against Souths should be good too - we will be raring to go by then.

Indeed it will. I have seen headlines stating that the game scheduling will be geared around maximising fan attendance. I haven't seen the articles, so I am not yet sure what that means exactly. Did I see something about Thursday night blockbusters going? Does that mean some Thursday games will remain?

I hope that means ditching the Friday 6pm games

I won't be surprised if he leaves us, but I don't think he will end up at the Rabbitohs. Worse comes to worse we will find someone more than capable of replacing him.
Roosters have been saying they won't even want to pay half of the money everyone is talking about.

Oh gees. Parramatta have offered Latrell Mitchel $11,000,000 over 10 years. That's $1.1 per season. Normally I'd be very concerned about that. But Souths' offer I guess is very similar only three or four years at a time. I'd say right now Rooster fans, that has officially put the chooks out of the running. But there's a lot of roosters that Won't be unhappy with that.

Yep, and look at the last big name player who decided to take the big money offer and play at another club (i.e. Roger Tuivasa-Scheck). How's that worked out for him again? o_O

We cannot and would not match $1.1m a season, I don't believe. If he can get that, for 10 years, you would almost have to say 'good on you' and let him go with your blessing. He would have to consider the weight of expectation that would come with that. He would be the 'main man' at that club, even more so than Fergo, would be expected to perform week in week out, and not go missing during games. That is a big ask, but I guess money can speak volumes.

So true. Can also cause other players wanting to walk.

Yes I know. The next couple of days will prove to be difficult times for most clubs, I suspect. JWH might have been advised that he can look elsewhere (apparently something was mentioned on yesterday's Talkin' Sport program on 2SM), but I have trouble believing it to be honest. With Manly's new challenge regarding a hooker, who knows what that will lead to. There could be implications and flow on effects all over the place. I am not sure that this is the best system, but I am also not sure if an AFL draft style system would be the optimal way to go. Never a dull moment as they say!
