Baz also has Slade due back rounds 16-18, so we should have Levi and Griffin available at roughly the same time

6 to 8 weeks at the best possible time. If we run with best case scenario, he could only miss three games for us and be back in time for the game at home against the warriors:

Bye
Rabbits
Storm
Bye
Broncos
Warriors

8 weeks has him back for the Roosters game
Thats a good way of looking at it, not so bad

Didn't know where else to put this, but not long ago Rossdog posted this on twitter:

wow thats certainly a dig and sounds a bit salty. Maybe Rossdog feels his injures werent treated as well as possible. He does have a point though we did have a lot of injuries when Ayoub was at the Knights. I think this year we've used the least amount of players in the NRL.

Ayoub comes across as fairly old school. It's definitely a part of the game that needs to be cutting edge

The nib Newcastle Knights enforcer picked up an injury in the opening game of the 2019 State of Origin series while playing for NSW.

Injury Report: Latest on Klemmer, Guerra ahead of schedule

Knights Head of Physical Performance, Balin Cupples, said the prop was unaware of the injury until he joined his Club team in camp ahead of last week’s match against South Sydney.

He is now on the road to recovery.

“Dave suffered an injury during the Origin time,” Cupples said.

“He was unaware after the game and the showed up to our preparations into the game last week and had some swelling.

“Had some scans and it was found he has a small non-displaced fracture of one of his carpel bones.

“He will be in a splint for three to four weeks to promote the heeling and then we’ll get a gage after that period how quickly he can get into his contact and football skills.

Sione's touching, yet hilarious gesture

“A positive for Dave is he’s able to do a lot whether it’s conditioning wise, running wise, we’re able to keep him in high strong physical status over this next little block to ensure when he does get the green light, he’s ready to go come return for us.”

Meanwhile, Aidan Guerra is on the comeback trail from a nasty ankle injury.

The veteran returned to team training this week and is ahead of schedule in his return to the field.

The 18th Man: Round 13

“In the next few weeks, which is a bit ahead of schedule, we should see Aidan return to play,” Cupples said.

“He’s been phenomenal through his rehab process.”

Finally, forward Josh King has been battling a nasty cork.

The local product suffered a whack to the leg three weeks ago and it’s been causing him grief, restricting him to the sideline.

Four players sin-binned after scuffle

“Josh suffered an innocuous knock against Norths. It is a corked based injury,” Cupples explained.

“It significantly blew up. It’s probably one of the worst contusions I’ve seen.

“… we should see Josh return to play very soon.”

Injured players and expected return dates:
Aidan Guerra (Ankle - Late Rounds)

Slade Griffin (ACL - Late season)

Danny Levi (Ankle - Round 16-18)

David Klemmer (Wrist - Round 16-18)

Josh King (Leg - Round 14-15)

Great news for Guerra, but unfortunately for him I don't see a spot for him on the team.

What's happened to Bradman Best? Noticed he hasn't been named in any of the lower grades for a few weeks now, but injury reports are a bit scarce for players out of the top squad.

Herald article on Klem.
"
Newcastle prop David Klemmer is almost certain to be available for Origin lll and is even considered an outside chance of playing for the Knights against Brisbane in just 17 days time despite fracturing his wrist against Queensland in Origin l.

Klemmer missed the Knights' win over South Sydney last Friday night and won't play against Melbourne on Saturday or the Maroons in Perth on Sunday week after being ruled out for between four to six weeks.

It was initially thought the injury would sideline him for the rest of the Origin series.

But Knights high performance boss Balin Cupples told the Newcastle Herald Klemmer will highly likely be fit for Origin lll on July 10 and refused to completely rule out getting him back on deck to play against the Broncos as early as June 29 in Newcastle.

The Knights have another bye after the Storm game which would mean Klemmer potentially missing only two club games if everything goes right with his recovery.

His hand will be in a splint until three or four days because the Broncos game when he will have further scans to determine when he will return.

"It was a non-displaced fracture in his hand so that just needs time to heal which is generally three to four weeks and then it will depend on his pain tolerance once he comes out of the splint, how quickly he can grab and get his grip back and build his strength back up," Cupples said.

Asked if he was any chance of playing against the Broncos, Cupples said: "It's not out of the question but I'd suggest that would be right on the window.

"Klem is obviously a highly motivated individual and will do anything to get back on the field but that Broncos game might be pushing it. But I definitely think he would be ready the week after."

The Knights take on the Warriors at home on that weekend but if selected for Origin lll, Klemmer would have to sit out the game.

"Whether the Blues want to consider him without playing footy or if he gets some minutes against the Broncos will depend on how things are in two and a half weeks when he comes out of the splint," Cupples said.

"There'll be follow-up scans around that time and if there is no fracture then it becomes a physio or functional-led decision based on pain or if there is still a [fracture] line there, it could be an extra week."

Meanwhile, veteran forward Aidan Guerra is three weeks ahead of schedule in his return from a sickening dislocated fracture of his ankle and could play against Brisbane if selected.

Guerra was named on an extended bench for the Storm clash but is at least another week away.

Fullback Kalyn Ponga returns to the side to take on Melbourne after being rested against Souths while Kurt Mann returns to five-eighth in place of Mason Lino after deputising at the back for Ponga at ANZ Stadium"

Apparently he played in the origin curtain raiser

Glasby injury is abit of a blow especially with Barnett's suspension, I'd imagine Sione and Guerra coming in but messes with the bench rotation.
The bench rotation we had with Gavet, Ese'ese, Sione and Watson was really starting to work well.

Allowing for unknown injuries, Ponga and DanS ok? Glasby doubtful and Klemmer out for another week, I’d bring King to start with DanS showing the way, Guerra in for Barnett with Ese’ese to 13 so bench is Gavet, JSaf, Sione and Buhrer. If Glasby ok then Ese’ese back to bench and JSaf misses out, leaves bench virtually unchanged.
