Still happens to this day. I remember when Penrith's away jumper was teal and they were against Newcastle in blue up at Hunter, a visual clusterf**k. Hell, Bulldogs-Eels clash this year too. Heaps of bizarre choices.

I shake my head everytime I see this.

FFS Newcastle, the one team you shouldn't wear this jersey against..

(Re: Manly wearing away Pepsi Jersey vs Bulldogs in 1995 GF)
I don't see any issue with how those jerseys were, one was blue at shoulders/white below, the other white at shoulders, maroon below. I don't remember any problems then.

Same here.. if Manly had worn the 1995 HOME Pepsi jersey, it would have been a problem.. both clubs would have dark shoulders (blue vs maroon), white around the torso, and dark shorts.

By wearing the away, the torso and *especially* the shoulders contrast more.

Obviously they do it deliberately and it just shows how low the average IQ of the Club bosses is...

“We will wear our orange jumper against the orange twam so they have to wear white. They wont know who to tackle!!! Hahah”

Sigh

Its definitely deliberate, they do it every year. In their off season new jersey reveal, they even stated "of course we will also be wearing our hi-vis jersey again this year". No prizes for guessing which team it will be against.

Rabbitohs have upgraded Zoom to sternum:

https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2...n-rabbitohs-jerseys-for-the-next-two-seasons/

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have announced that Zoom Video Communications, Inc., the leader in modern enterprise video communications, has signed to feature on the Rabbitohs' jerseys for the next two seasons.

Zoom will appear on the sternum of all Rabbitohs jerseys in 2019 and 2020 including home, away and special event jerseys throughout both seasons.

Zoom has teamed up with leading sporting organisations around the world including the NBA's Golden State Warriors and NHL's San Jose Sharks, with the Rabbitohs being Zoom's first NRL corporate partnership. Zoom chose the Rabbitohs as they wanted to continue to be associated with a successful and leading sporting organisation when moving into the Australian sporting landscape.

Zoom are stepping up to a jersey partnership property from 2019, having first joined the Rabbitohs' corporate family in the 2018 season.

Rabbitohs CEO, Blake Solly, is delighted to see Zoom move to a prominent position on the Rabbitohs' playing kit.

"Zoom has been a fantastic partner and we're excited to have such a respected international brand partnering with us on our jersey for the next two years," Mr Solly said.

"Zoom has changed the way organisations connect and communicate. Much like the Rabbitohs, the staff and products at Zoom are innovative, progressive and market leading.

"In 2018, Zoom saw great results from their partnership with us, with increased brand exposure and a number of business-to-business relationships built through our network. These results will only improve with their move to the sternum on our famous, red and green hooped jersey.

"This is a great fit for us and a great fit for Zoom and we're looking forward to working with their leadership to ensure our partnership is a huge success in 2019 and beyond."
Blake SollySouth Sydney Rabbitohs Chief Commercial Officer

In addition, a key part of the partnership will be Rabbitohs playing, coaching and administration staff using Zoom as part of their day-to-day operations, incorporating Zoom in Member webinars and extending the reach of Souths Cares in the community.

Zoom's Head of Australia & New Zealand, Michael Chetner said: "Zoom is proud to build on our partnership from last year with the most successful club in the NRL.

"Much like the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Zoom offers an experience that can't be matched. We are proud to be trusted with the responsibility of keeping the coaches, staff and administration team connected, allowing the team to focus on what they do best - winning matches.

"We wish the Rabbitohs the best of luck as they prepare for the season to commence and we are looking forward to cheering on a successful 2019 season."

Zoom was founded by Eric S. Yuan in 2011. It counts among its customers numerous Australian organisations ranging from financial services and high tech to higher education and healthcare. It has become one of the leaders in modern enterprise video communications with a secure and easy platform for audio and video conferencing, webinars and messaging across all devices and spaces.

Zoom has grown over the past few years, now with over 45 billion annual meeting minutes and triple digit growth revenue and user growth. This is due to business being able to reach out to more and more commercial prospects because of Zoom's easy to use and manage communications platform.

Nice!! Anyone know if this was one of the companies mentioned in the report the other day? I'm guessing not but it is a possibility.

Penrith MAY have a new shorts sponsor... at the presser earlier this week there was no Host Plus logo in the background ad billboard thingy and instead there was Keno.

All cool & good, but does anyone know when the Rabbitohs will release their 2019 jerseys? They're really missing out on the Christmas market with all these sponsorship delays....

One before Christmas and one in January. I guess this depends on if the sponsors are now locked down.

Apparently the jerseys are with Rusty for final approval (based on a poster on another forum who is usually in the know). Not sure if that indicates that there may be a change in design.

I hope it's a change in design. For the home jersey, the classic "white bunny, black shorts" would be fantastic - preferably with no side panels (or minimal side panels).

For away, I'd love to see something mostly white, with red & green trim, or a red and a green stripe.

No more of this "home and away being the same, just with black or white trim"

Nice idea but can't see it happening.

I like it myself. We get to play in red and green almost hoops in most games.
No change needed as far as I’m concerned.

But you could also do that if you just wore your main jersey for every game, and an alternate only when needed, similar to what Saints, Raiders, Roosters and a few others do.

It’s your weird obsession with having more than one front of jersey sponsor, and needing to give them equal exposure, that results in this home and away business

Well it depends if that’s a more profitable solution.
