2019 Origin Game 1 thread

I’m interested in the game whilst it’s on.
But I am so sick of the media build up to every Origin match that now starts before the season even kicks off.
Watching a regular season match and the commentators suddenly start talking about Origin for five minutes, what an insult to those teams playing right in front of them. People picking their Origin teams every week from round 1. I understand that it’s the jewel in the NRL’s crown but it is a bit much.

I'm a petty, small man.

I stopped caring for Origib when Glenn Morrison was busting his arse, as one of the best back-rowers in the game, and was continually snubbed.

Mind you, he had blokes like Hindy, Kennedy, Simpson, Menzies, etc. to compete with, but his form deserved a jumper, and he never got it.

So I don't care about Origin - it's all a circle-jerk about incumbents.

I will say with the “picking teams every week” at least there has been a bit more of a reward for current form this year. No more picking and sticking. Would’ve been hugely insulting if Maloney got nod over Walker

I mean it is ok if had those beer and pizza nights. I think they sound fun but never have been to invited to one. I usually watch origin in my bed naked eating chips and bar of chocolate with a cup of tea.

I saw an old woman today and she was completely kitted out in maroon including her walker, with flags. Also saw several bogans dressed in the QLD jersey, shorts and thongs, but I see that every day.
