Not sure he could do anything different, early in his career (both in general, and at Broncos). Board would crucify him if he messed around too much with $2 million of cap, as you say, and it didn't pay off.

But hopefully he can add some spark (like he did to Souths) or whip the players in to shape, or grow in confidence to drop them if they keep under performing.

I agree, that it is a bad start from those usual suspects though.
