My point is that the refs in this situation can't win. They don't give a ruck penalty, fans whinge. They give too many, fans whinge.

Personally I reckon most penalties in this one have warranted and both sides have been pretty poorly disciplined and dumb at times. But the thing that needs to change is the rules. Refs should not be ignoring infringements.

I just don't see how any fan can really whinge about any team specifically wrestling at this point. In the year 2019 they are all wrestling. They are all trying to control the players arms in the play the ball.

What we can whinge about is wrestling in general and the current interpretation of the ruck.

While its not a conspiracy theory imo. The storm have just been a lot more successful with it. It is true that Bennett was having wrestling coaches come in to work with the Broncos while Bellamy was the assistant coach at Brisbane. It is something he adapted to the storm and basically mastered

If the Broncos had been as successful as the storm with the same tackles it would have been them attracting the attention. Where we are in 2019 though is every team tries to control the ruck through wrestling.

Until the refs change the interpretation of the ruck this is the way teams win.
