I have no doubt it was a try but don’t they always go back to the play the ball even when only asked to check grounding?

Re going back - they only what the ref asks for, i think...

After they awarded it the other reply showed it was -grounded ok, but the first and only angle they showed from had his arm& wrist showing between the ball and the grass. In the end the right decision made.
