Even when the NRL has been a bit earlier NSWRL generally still wait til close to Xmas before anything, and even then it's usually ISP first with RMC/SS later.
Ha ha I thought so.
Are they running the preseason Newcastle v RMC again?

There were no Newcastle teams in the preseason comp, it was the 10 RMC teams playing 3 games each. Well organised trials provide useful data for selectors in sorting out the fringe candidates, especially with club rosters changing so much these days. It certainly wasn't a good result for the 11th RMC team that chose not to participate. The lack of hard football leading into the comp resulted in them winning only 1 game (against Brothers) in their first 5 games.

Fair comment.
I spoke with one RMC coach last year , he wasn’t happy about it, particularly the late notification about it
Didn’t the winner of the RMC play a Newcastle combined team?

There was a second phase but it was a failure. Of the 4 Sydney teams that qualified, Wenty, Mounties and St Marys all withdrew. Glebe Burwood played a Newcastle team on their bye week, Guildford were substituted and beat one of the Illawarra teams when they had a bye in round 1 of RMC. The other Illawarra and Newcastle teams withdrew. Guildford beat Glebe Burwood in the regular RMC game and then put a below strength team up against Dubbo, and after Guildford had a player sent off, Dubbo flogged them and won the Challenge Cup by playing one game.

Half way through the season a combined RMC beat a combined Newcastle side on the week off for RMC clubs. As usual whoever declares themselves available is selected for the "rep team". After this a combined RMC/Newcastle side played Qld Rangers. Many of the RMC guys from the earlier game dropped out and the Qld side flogged NSW. This game was played on a weekend where a full round of RMC was played and the dropouts all played for their clubs.

I am not sure the formats are finalised yet so a draw could be a while off

Relax guy. The draws are usually staggered. ISP usually comes in December, other divisions come in January.

Any signing news ?

Asquith is the only club that provides any details. Mounties and Blacktown did in the past but Mounties discontinued and Manly closed down the Blacktown website and clearly the relevant Blacktown person moved to Asquith.

Formats were agreed upon during the last few rounds of the season, I'd hope they're finalised by now more or less. As @Tigers1986 suggests we're unlikely to see draws for at least another month.
