Wigan have won their appeal against their two point deduction and it has been changed to a two point deduction suspended until 2020.

The right decision imo

Going over the cap by 0.8% due to a admin error doesn't warrant a points deduction...fine them the £14,700 they went over the cap..

It's not as if they blown through the cap to sign extra players like clubs have in the past...

Yep. Maybe the suspended sentence should hang for more than 12 months though?
Anyway, fine always seemed more suitable for such a minor issue.

SIDE NOTE
Why are clubs penalised a huge points deduction for going into administration? How does an on-field, season-ruining penalty help to find a new owner or more sustainable future?

Crowds aren’t setting world on fire. Without Leeds pulling in big numbers it goes down. The Catalans have had two decent crowds to start the season. While castleford punch above their weight. It will be great once clubs like Salford who at best have 4000 fans get relegated and some growth clubs get in. That goes for London too if they can’t find a way to get a stadium with more capacity then why are they in super league.

But they are serial offenders ‘spud. It doesn’t matter if it’s 0.01% or 100% if they don’t learn their lesson or think cheating is acceptable then the punishment should increase every time IMO. Don’t forget it’s not like they gave themselves up. It was only picked up in a RFL audit. People are being blinded by the size of the SC breach and ignoring Wigan’s past form.

I don’t know Adam but it hasn’t harmed Widnes being taken over. I suppose it’s to stop clubs overspending to try and win promotion.

Its the 3rd time they have been caught cheating the Salary cap.
They have history on this.

One would think 'not going broke and being forced to sell the club at cut price' is in itself a pretty good incentive to not go broke.

Point penalty seems oddly redundant and only hurts the "new" club rather than those responsible.

London are in super league on merit but I agree about their “crowds”. They are truly shocking and embarrassing for a top flight sports team.

Only just got around to checking last weekends results, well done London with a heap of players I've never heard of, now to just get some fans in London.......
Ealing is a dead end for the broncos. Ideally they need a long term ground-sharing agreement with a London based lower league football team or even a non league football team. Leyton orient, Brentford or Barnet etc.

The goal for London crowds is simply to improve year on year. It's not gonna happen overnight.

It's a fair while since they've been in the top flight and when they last were they were all over the place.
Whether their current location is the right fit for a professional top tier team remains to be seen though
