I didn’t realise there are 5 dragons in the emerging squad, inc Lomax, Lawrie, McInnes, Robson and Aitken
https://www.nswrl.com.au/news/2018/11/26/fittler-announces-emerging-blues-squad/
Yep, great recognition and incentive for all.

I think of the 5, McInnes is the only realistic chance for 2019 and only if Cook get’s injured.

Although if Aitken comes out strong and there are other injuries he could get a run. The media, other fans and ‘experts’ aren’t as critical of him as we are.

Agree up to a point but you would think that 3 and 4 sould be the least of our worries.
Considering the coach was a good centre.
You would think he could pass on how to play as a centre.
But he seems to not be able to.
Mary being a very good centre does not mean that he is a good teacher or coach.

The back 3 is still a bigger problem than the centres

Our leaky right edge was our biggest problem in defence until Lomax was selected at right centre. If Lomax and Mann were our NRL centres, you can be sure our backline would be much stiffer in defence.

I don't know a whole lot about our wingers and so just hope the Club has players who can do the job.

If we have signed Norman, there is a big chance that either Widdop or Norman will be at fullback if Dufty does not improve his defensive game or his ability to take and return the high kick.

I’m equally nervous about them all. There is more unknowns than I can remember in a long time. The wingers don’t have a lot of experience, but at least we can be hopeful they’ll perform. Provided they get the necessary go forward off our line my guess is they’ll be good for us.

The centres although having more experience are still a problem due to a number of deficiencies. For me the centres are the ones that need to show more. Aitken simply can’t be a ball hog as it has a knock on effect. And sure he may get spoken about re Origin and NSW, who themselves have had success with powerful strong running backs but overall in a NRL season we need skill and awareness more so than power outwide. There is a spin this season with Lomax in the picture. Lomax appears to be that skilful natural centre we so desperately need, however who knows what role he will play. And to be honest he still has many tests to pass. (Unlike Aitken who really needs to learn to pass)

And than we come to Dufty. He’s been good and bad, which we’ve all analysed to death. What changes this season? Can he bring the good and bad closer together?

It was all looking good until I saw Norman at 14. I am absolutely sure that SGI would not be paying over 800k for a bench player.

To be honest, either Norman is coming in 2020 or Widdop won't be ready for round 1 and Norman is to be at 6.

Yes it's a tough one Mickey if he does sign (I have heard it's in the 10 day cool off period but only a rumour) as he will be in the team somewhere.
Lomax should be first centre chosen and Lafai when the forwards are on he is a gun. His game against Broncos in semi was fantastic. Unfortunately if team not going forward he goes from great to bottom 3 centres in the game.
I think McInnes will share hooker with Hunt a bit next year. Have heard one option is when DeBelin comes off McInnes to play 13 for his great defence and Hunt will slip into dummy half so Cameron doesn't have to do the extra running simply to get to the ruck.
This is where Norman on the bench would be good as he has a great short kicking game and is very good at putting people through a hole. He would come on straight into the halves.
I'm keen for Dufty to stay at 1 as I think he will continue to get better, let's not right the kid off just yet.
I think our two biggest problems are will Lawrie and KSims step up when we replace Graham and Vaughan to keep momentum and second is our yardage game from our back 3. Pearson is good at this but Nene is a loss as that was the best part of his game.
Anyway I'm keen to celebrate 2010 all over again so bring on 2019 :smiley:.

Where did you get the "over 800k" figure from? Does it help you sleep at night to completely make up these figures for players we're chasing/players on our roster to support your ideas?

Obviously everyone has an opinion on the centres but at least they have experience. The back three is a huge unknown as they are and just lost nene. Lomax is talked of as a centre which would be fine if we actually had depth in fullback and wing which we dont

Love this team. Best one i've seen yet. I'd be keeping Robson as close to first grade as possible however, that kid is going to be special.

We can only go on reported figures as they are not officially made public. Do your own research and come back to me and tell me what you have found.
