2019 Wooden Spooners

We kind of discussed who we thought would be wooden spooners in 2019 in match day threads. Thought I would create a thread for it.

Who's everyone's tip with a couple of games to judge them? Anyone still think Eels?

Bulldogs and Titans are hard to split on form so far IMO. Bulldogs have the worst backline in the competition, arguably the worst spine and I really don't rate their forward pack. Taking Klemmer out and adding Napa... they have a pack full of benchies for mine. No real quality starters.

Titans have signed some good attacking players and somehow made them consistently terrible removing all the upside. Although to be fair their first choice halves have been missing. Their backline looks pretty shit and honestly it's looking very lucky for us Brennan wasn't made coach of us.

Anyone else think another team could do it? Manly are winless and honestly look worse than they did with Barrett. But I believe Tyrbo will lift them. Dragons look shocking too... probably due to the JDB case lingering over them and the new spine struggling. But they have a quality roster.

Bulldogs would be the favourites at this stage, closely followed by the Titans.

Parra won’t be anywhere near it this year, unless Ferguson is ruled out for the season

It won't be us. We could miss the 8 with injuries to the wrong guys. Our depth is not that great. But it would take a hell of alot of injuries before we are worse than Bulldogs, Titans or possibly even Sea Eagles.

A Manly spoon would be awesome. But I think Turbo will be good enough to win games for them against shit teams

I don't understand how the Titans are so bad. They have a strong pack on paper. Backs should be serviceable. Brimson is a gun.

I think Brennan might be in real trouble.

Bottom 4 will be Dogs, Titans, Parra and Manly.

Dogs have the most depth so potentially can improve to avoid the spoon.

Manly when Tom T comes back the same.

Parra have done the basics but have a had a few lucky tries. Roosters will slaughter them this week

Too be fair haven't had their top halves on the park. Too many players that can't defend in their squad

When they get a bit of possession on you they are very dangerous with their ball movement. They've managed to unearth a bunch of rookies seemingly ready for first grade from nowhere, and Fergo isn't a bad replacement for Semi. It's like last year didn't happen. Early days yet though and they are up against the best defence in the business this week.

Rookies fall away as the year goes on. When Will Smith is backup half and hooker you have issues

Dogs with their first choice top 17 just got belted by the Eels with Michael Jennings, Nathan Browne, Peni Terepo, Manu Ma'u and Will Smith missing from their team.

I think Eels depth is underrated. I mean they had Josh Hoffman come in for Michael Jennings this week. George Jennings is still in reserves. They had 3 guys injured in their pack and still beat the Bulldogs pack. With Nathan Brown especially being a big loss.

No way is that the dogs full strength team. Martin isn't in it for starters

Bulldogs, they would seriously struggle to make the NSWCUP top 8...

Looking forward to the Eels & Tigers being brought back to reality...

Bulldogs but I wouldn't write off the turf at Brookvale dragging Manly down.
It looks to be worse than last year and when I saw poor old Brett Morris gone down I thought there are going to be some injuries this year playing on it.
Thankfully we do not play there this year but Manly have another 9 games to be completed and I fear they could suffer some injuries from it.
Who knows a few big names could go down and drag Manly right down to the bottom. Their depth sucks.
