I just put it down to some very good players in both teams, but your point has merit.

Yeah, maybe a little from column A and a little from column B.

But it is very enjoyable.

I would say also that despite both teams wanting a win, no player is "accountable" for low percentage plays, so they feel free to do whatever they feel like. Having said that, not a lot of crazy plays are on, just a lot of good ones.
