I'd prefer they take on international teams rather than just English national and club teams only. What is the point of that?

Could do this;

Vs Jamaica/Nigeria in London (Warm up)
1st test vs Lions in London
Vs Wales in Wales (Mid week match)
2nd test vs Lions in Newcastle
Vs Scotland in Scotland (mid week match)
3rd test vs Lions (In Manchester)
vs France in France on way home
Got to be England and not the lions or GB. Also Nigeria are no way near ready for facing opposition like the kangaroos. Likewise Jamaica.

Wales is a good shout as is France. Poor stadia in Cumbria would rule out a match being held there which realistically only leaves the English knights .

Please no midweek games v club sides or regional rep sides.

Play proper tests v France and Wales or Scotland. I want to see us be ambitious and have 6 test tours and eventually work up to 8, but 5 would be okay for now.

https://www.nrl.com/news/2019/11/04/wigan-wolfpack-keen-to-play-kangaroos-on-2020-tour/

New article from Brad Walter. Dates and venues announced for 2020 Kangaroo tour in coming days. Matches against Wigan, Leeds and the Toronto Wolfpack seem more likely than not:

"Details of Australia's three-Test series against England at the end of next season are set to be announced in coming days as part of the 2020 international calendar, which will also include an end-of-season Test against New Zealand."

"While matches against France, Ireland, Scotland and Wales are a possibility, there is likely to be far greater interest – and financial benefit – from playing Super League clubs."

"However, it is understood the impending IRL announcement will not include mid-week matches or other fixtures on the Kangaroos tour as they are yet to be confirmed."

Hopefully they go with at least 1 other test. So the SL offseason will be even shorter for a few more SL clubs too, sure the players will love that.

Ideally they play 2, realistically we might be lucky if they play one. Same with England hopefully they play a couple warm-ups (France +1) while Australia are playing NZ and starting their tour against whoever.

The ARLC/NRL announced a $42m profit ...the kangaroos don't need to play club sides to make the tour "financially" better off...

They need to play games that benefit the international game..not line their already bulging pockets

Yep.. put club/regional sides in the f**kin bin with GB

Typical League western sydney attitude

Playing Wales and France is an investment

Playing Wigan and Leeds is a new TV

We go new tv every time

Again, how happy will the players of these clubs be when their 8 week off season goes to 6 weeks?

What are you on about?

Any Super League club who plays a game against the Kangaroos will realistically have to still be training until late October to play then start playing again in what, start of February?

The 6 weeks was obviously an exaggeration but these aren't test players they're regular club players. Will the test players from these clubs even be available? The tour games against club sides should have died the moment English RL switched to summer.

Ah no I see now

I thought you meant how happy would the players of NRL clubs be having their off-season shortened by longer tours.

Yeah no stupid tour games v club sides. The other European test sides should already be playing in the European Cup so they'd be ready to play Australia or England.

Shouldn't be too hard to have something like this:

Week 1
Australia v NZ
France v England

Week 2
Australia v Ireland/Scotland/Wales
England v Ireland/Scotland/Wales

Week 3
England v Australia

Week 4
England v Australia

Week 5
England v Australia

Week 6
France v Australia

If they take over a 40 man squad they could do mid-week games and have Australia play 3 games v England, and Australia-A play Wales, Ireland, France or something

But tbh if we're doing Australia-A I'd rather them stay home and compete in the Oceania Cup for continuity.
