Still it was no worse than what Slater, Mini & Wighton all managed to beat to not miss a final.

I cant remember the particulars of the Mini/Slater cases, but Wighton got off on nothing more than technicality on how they worded the definition of the charge
That's the only reason. They said for a shoulder charge the arm had to be tucked in, his was not and at that point the charge was cooked

That was just pot luck cashing in on incompetency from the law makers of the game. Nothing more.

Fair point. The mini one was the worst of the lot. It would have been shit for him to retire suspended, in my mind that was the perfect time to change the points required to miss finals games.

Additionally Ennis had escaped any punishment for an identical shoulder charge, I think it was a week earlier.

yeah Ennis got off around the time for the same thing, it was impossible for them to deny us under the circumstances. No arm tucked.

They changed the wording that off season.
Hard to argue against Kikau not lifting in that tackle, there was no technicality to argue

Wightons was an idiotic tackle. We were very lucky to game the wording of the rules.

A dangerous throw is pretty black and white. Kikau is probably unlucky because it was pretty mild but getting the hands in that position and the opposition player landing like that is gonna be tough to argue

No i think it was the same week..Cronulla played the Storm in Melbourne, the Raiders played the Tigers at Leichhardt.
Yeah it was. The whole thing was pretty amusing. Michael Buettner (MRC) explained why Ennis didn’t get charged but in doing so he perfectly described Wighton’s tackle which he got charged for. Love the NRL.
