Funny how it’s all Gus’s fault. According to Buzz who has a deep seated embarrassing obsession of Gould and Kent who has admitted in helping Griffen with the media and getting him another gig. I’m sure they are not biased at all. Griffen failed at the Donkeys and from all reports deeply unpopular at the Panthers. Can’t believe he landed another gig.

It's STG's business who they sign and by all accounts it was Griffin who did all the hard yards setting up junior pathways only for Gus to claim he did it. Notwithstanding same, I think it's astonishing that Andrew Webster, Weedler and Gould would run a campaign to try and stop him getting a job. I can't remember when the NRL media have so blatantly gone after someone.

Until he coaches a poor, to average, team, and gets them firing, he is over-rated, imo - even Mal "rugby league has done nothing for me" Meninga coached Queensland to a zillion wins, so the Origin coaching yardstick isn't exactly flawless...

I don't much like Gould, but I have to disagree about him being a bog average player. He was a very clever, ball-playing second rower with a very good kicking game and was smart with game management. Also had a deceptively dangerous running game. He was one of my favourite players.
But as a person? Dunno.

Like I said I have an open mind on the matter. For a bloke who keeps saying he has nothing to say, Gould has an awful lot to say on the matter. He sounds like he honestly believes he is not denegrading Griffin. Now he has turned on his Agent Bestie.
I think he is seriously in danger of becoming yesterdays man.

Fair enough.

He always came across to me (as a player) as the type of player who thought he should be involved with everything, even when it wasn't to his team's benefit.

He was sacked from the Broncos because their expectations are too high. Bennett was hardly better when he took over and just like any dumb fan they thought winning a premiership was as simple as changing the coach.

Griffin was sacked from Penrith for no reason at all. He was on track to make the finals three straight years. It was a travesty that they sacked him. In Cleary's first season they went worse. This year is likely a flash in the pan.

Griffin is a quality coach with a good record.

And the only thing that Griffin said live on NRL360 was that ‘he wasn’t proud of his relationship with Gould disintegrating.’

Reckon they will go after Paul Green, and Uncle Ben as head of football from 2022 when he finishes up at Souths
