There's something charitable about being able to make poor, downtrodden plebians smile every so often.
You say it in a condescending way but it is real thing, a covenant between qld players and fans. They go the extra mile to help us smile the next day and buy a Daily Tele

All that does is buy back 4 seconds wasted by Kafusi, of which he wasted 9.
Still a penalty for the 3rd,4th and 5th men into the tedesco tackle.

It was 5 seconds from Kaufusi, so a second off.

The last tackle was touch and go. Referees have shown they'll give players plenty of leeway when they make a dominant tackle. Had Friend and Su'A piled on it may have tipped Sutton over the edge, but since they remained upright the referee was happy to pay the advantage.

Shouldn't the dominant tackler be the ones who get to lay over the player and control the speed?
Big pappa comes in with a Hindmarsh flop, then 2 more get involved to slow it down.
Dominant shouldn't allow more players to get involved to make it impossible to get to your feet. The two who made the tackle is enough.

My three favourites bits from the last 24 hours. Andrew Johns saying as a supposed expert that one side ‘couldn’t win.’
Paul Gallen saying that Queenslanders playing better in a maroon jersey is a fallacy and Gagai showing again the opposite.
And, this board tearing into each other over who to blame.
My three favourites:
1. The Brisbane Broncos winning the wooden spoon
2. The Brisbane Broncos winning the wooden spoon
3.The Brisbane Broncos winning the wooden spoon

Refs have shown they're happy for players to come in after a dominant tackle and buy those extra seconds.

If they're going to clean it up, then they should also make sure the players are playing the ball correctly. The defence is already at a disadvantage because players are playing it off of one knee, when they should be on both feet standing upright.

You are right. Plenty of other shit that needs cleaning up.

Fair points for the most part, but keep in mind that Maloney very nearly cost NSW the series last year. He was great when on-form, but it seemed that for the 50% of times he was a major asset, the other 50% he was a major liability. Game 3 last year was a classic case of blowing penalties to contrive a close contest, but without some of Maloney's stuff-ups the game would've already been out of sight long before the entire country got to find out that McGuire has a tramp stamp...

I honestly don't think NSW wins the last two series without him. IMO his influence extends much further than just his playing ability - the guy is a proven winner and big match player.

Compare that with Tiktok Chinboy last night, who did the best impression of Mythchell Piss' Origin career I've ever seen last night. It was alarming his drop from club level (sans GF) to Origin.

3 tries all. It wasn't Cleary's fault IMO. I think more of the blame lies with B Fittler. Complacency, half the NSW squad are there to pick up a nice little earner IMO.

how can you say it wasn't Cleary's fault when the points difference was his missed conversions.

Yes there was plenty horrid performances from the blues and Freddy gives hope to any brain dead alcoholics that wish to be employed somewhere but Cleary was worst of them all. Aside from offering absolutely nothing with the ball he had the opportunity to stop two of qld's try's. He could have tackled Capewell right after he beat Gutherson and he could have dived on Tupou's offload.

Worst on ground and it wasn't even close.

Easy tiger.
I agree Cleary offered zero in attack, but the loose ball from Toopoo was a terrible pass of which Cleary does dive for but Munster gets boot to it first.
Three people could have stopped the Capewell break as well.

He's guilty of missing two conversions (from the sideline) and failing to deliver in attack. Failing to stop two tries? Team effort both of them.

Criticizing the bloke because he couldn't clean up the errors of others. Expect this from him. It's personal.

You need to seek some help to get over whatever Nathan did to you. It's not healthy. Sure he wasn't great last night but to lay the blame on him for some of the shit you have is pathetic.

1) Taking a look at some of the pre-match threads here were Qlders echoing his sentiment, TBF
2) Dane Gagai. Runs 10-20 metres and scores when he's surrounded by players good enough to get him the football. Such an Origin player...
3) That's pretty much standard fare post-Origin no matter who wins

Just pointing out what a bog average player he actually is and not the f**king second coming of christ like the media and panthers fans claim he is.
